Fed up with paying 2 bucks for a replacmennt blade for my mach 3 and then only getting 5-8 shaves out of it.
I went old school straight razor. It takes time to get good with, but so for only very minor cuts, and man is it a close shave when you do it right. It cost about 230 For razor ,strop, and 1000/6000 grit stone it will cost another 90 for my 12,000 grit stone.

Or you could just get an electric razor for that price...

Yeah I shave about 2-3 times a week too even though I don't really get facial hair lol. I can't remember the last time I bought new blades.

I'm too lazy to use razors and I've been told I look better with a shadow (really thick beard, great coverage), so I just use my beard trimmer on the closest setting. Leaves me with a day old beard. Makes a hell of a mess though.

I use an old school Gillette sensor, lol. Started using it in college some 20 years ago, and haven't changed since. Ive tried these other 3,4 and 5 bladed contraptions, but it is a PITA getting everywhere I need to.
I should shave everyday, and have a hell of a day old shadow when I dont the next day. But, I like a day old shadow, and I get so flipping tired of it, well, the heck with it!

Too expensive lol.. I would probably also kill myself by accident. Idk, I only shave like twice a week, my blades seem to last for at least a few months though...

Wow. Just wow. But truth.
Yeah, recently, with the exception of the past two weeks because of female companionship, I have just let my beard grow out until it became hot and uncomfortable.

Hmmm, I usually am running short of time in the morning, so a straight razor wouldn't be feasible for me with the sharpening and such.
Instead, I just shave while I'm in the shower - works wonders!

I take it you have a mirror in the shower? How do you keep it from fogging up?

Yes, but its just a hand held one. To keep it from fogging, you can do a couple of things. Old SCUBA diving trick - spit on the mirror and wipe it around. It keeps from fogging that way, but I just tend to rinse the mirror a lot. Plus, I only really use it to get near my sideburns - been shaving enough years that it's pretty routine for me...

Come on Vike, 90 years of shaving and you still haven't gotten it down?

My razor from 8th grade is still good. Then again, 8th grade was pretty much the one and only time I've ever shaved.

Vike, you're forgetting that gene therapy again. I think the age reversal fried a little bit of your brain.

Have to shave daily. Use a fusion in the shower. Once you shave in the shower, you won't go back. For those that get a few months out of a razor...grow a beard already.

I have a big mirror I took off a Peterbilt (semi truck) that I thought about putting in the shower but now where to really mount it.
I took the clippers & buzzed the beard I had & then buzzed the goatee. Wife didnt really like it.... oh well.

It's silent, water immersible, remote or plugin, best danged investment I've made in a while. I can sit here and type while I'm shaving - :)

Electrics are a nice commodity but never had a close enough shave from one. I would end up doing more harm than good trying to get a close shave.

I just stick to the perpetual shadow. I've had it so long, whenever I shave with a razor people tell me I look funny clean shaven.
