I've been out of the sport for a few years, and went into the local shop with a friend today to get the feel of some markers. I was liking the PMR, but the owner was pushing the Invert Mini on my friend saying it blows the PMR outta the water. PMR's around $450 i think, and the Mini is $310. Anyone have any opinions on the Mini? I heard awhile back they had some trouble just curious if anyone on here has one, and what their take is. Its a pretty good price difference in the mid market. Thanks everyone

If you get a good Mini, it'll last forever. If you get a bad Mini, it will work and then never operate again. Half of the ones sent back to the factory are never sent out again, instead they are a replacement marker.

The PMR is a much better marker, but at $450, it had better be the UL version. If it isn't, it isn't worth squat.

Ive shot both - the Mini doesnt blow the PMR away. Period. It's a good gun, but its not any better than the PMR. However, that price? Hmmmm...

Personally, I hated playing with the Mini. Too, um, mini. If you know what I mean. However, my experience was the same as Tim said - during a clinic in the winter (very cold that weekend) with Texas Storm, their entire compliment of Mini's went down, while my PMR worked flawlessly.

So try them both if you can - get what feels best to you.

I agree, get what feels better, just don't screw yourself with a Mini. ;)

If this is the 2010 PMR then that is probably a better gun then the Mini. Alot of bigger people don't like the Mini because well it is a very small gun. I had the first gen Mini and PMR and both were great guns but I liked the Mini more. For $450 you can get a used 07 Ego. If you don't want to buy used then shoot both and see which one is more comfortable to you.

The only problems my Mini ever had was the operator. Sup Vike? :D

Hey, Chris! Whaddup? I'm vertical, finally breathing and seeing the world differently and thinking of dropping some of the weight I gained in the past year to possibly play again...

Hahaha! You remember that clinic though, right? Damn cold was knocking them out left and right. Along with their Halo's, lol...

Anywho...you really need to shoot them both to decide. The mini I actually used was Chris's and it may well have been operator problems - but that thing was just too damn tiny for me. And I'm a little guy! That said, when I come back to play, my PMR will probably be the gun I use. I love that thing!

After another knee surgery and losing 25 pounds or so, I'm on fire.

I'm co-captain of Fabulous now, you should come out to Dodge some weekend.

holy hell... everyones coming out of the woodwork!

i shot a mini with 50ci peanut, and personally i hated it. i like a little heft to my guns. and when i saw a guy tech a mini, he said it was a pain to get it back together because the reg is in the grip.

I'm tellin' ya, Mini's are not worth the hassle. The PMR is just as good (and many will agree with better) than the Mini, with parts that are easily available and user replaceable. And DYE's customer service is absolutely wonderful.

Inverts customer service wasn't that bad but Dyes was alot better. Just test shoot both lol.

Invert's CS is to take the marker, toss it into a non-working marker bin, and send you another one. :dodgy:

Ive had a PMR for about 3 years now and I love it, its fast enough for any kind of play, reliable. and pretty OK on air for the price. some fun upgrades too. Ive never heard anyone rave about the MINI like people did with the PMR when it came out.

I've had both and in my opionion the first gen Mini was better then the first gen PMR -both being stock. The PMR was horrible on air. For both mine and my friends you got about a pod for 1000psi, the Mini was pretty bad as well but it wasn't that bad. The main thing I heard people complain about the Mini is that it was to small for them, for me it was a great gun. I thought the PMR had more stock issues then the Mini, the feed neck on the PMR wasn't as good, it shot air in your face, and I didn't really like the stock PMR trigger. The one thing I do like about the PMR is that you can upgrade it alot more and the UL frame is amazing.

DYE's customer service is good. Their support model is horrible. Try buying parts for a DM or PM8, then tell me how good they are.

You can't go wrong with either marker. Buy the one YOU prefer.

Chris, we had a customer come in with a simple broken bolt in an SLG. Replaced the bolt (easy fix), and it worked. Then it wouldn't work no matter what, it just jackhammered and jackhammered it's way out of air. Sent it into DYE, they scratched their heads, and Dave Youngblood himself sent the gentleman a nice new PMR UL. I like that kinda support, personally. :p

Dang... That would be so sick. I busted the frame on my SLG, I wonder if I can get a UL'd PMR hehe.

Hmmm, Ive heard this so many times, but failed to understand why. My first gen PMR is AWESOME on air. I got WAY more than 5 pods on a 68/4500 fill, never once getting in a bind with air during games. In one game during my last tourney, I shot 5 pods and still had nearly a 1000 psi left in the tank. Maybe they were just hit and miss?

I guess, I wonder what makes them change that much though. If my PMR was better on air I probably would have kept it longer.
