So the word on the street is that I am in need of a new mask.. a good mask.

I really would prefer to spend not too much, but good FOV and lack of fog are most important I guess.

I was looking at the grill a while back and some others but idk whats on the market atm. Anyways though, what should I get, and why?

If I were you I'd go try on some at the closest paintball store. I was recently in the same situation, and went down to the store and tried every pair they had on. I'm not sure that is an option for you but mine is only 3 miles away so its easy for me to run down there and check things out. Here is what I found though:

Dye i4s - Light, comfortable, good field of vision, they are kind of small though, you definitely need try them on before you buy them. On me I had about 1/2" of my chin/jaw exposed, and I don't have a big head. These are also probably the most expensive mask out.

Empire E-Vents - Slightly heavier than the i4s, but they are bigger so that is expected. Covered my face easily. Field of vision was pretty good, i4s had a slightly larger field of vision but barely. One of the nice features of the E-Vents is they are easy to take apart to clean. These are on the upper end of the price spectrum.

V-Force Profilers - Nice mask for the price. Great field of vision, pretty comparable to the i4s and E-Vents. Very comfortable, easily covers everything that needs to be covered. Biggest draw back are the clips that hold the lens in, they can be a bit tricky. This is actually the mask I just got, not because it was better than the rest, but because of the deal I got. I actually wore this mask last September when I played Castle Conquest in PA. I have no complaints about them. Before I tripped across the deal I got these it was either Empire E-Vents or these.

V-Force Grillz - Besides actual look, I didn't see a big difference between these and Profilers. I think they are slightly smaller than the Profilers, but not a huge difference. These were still very comfortable and the only reason they weren't on my short list is because I don't like how they look

Invert Avatar - I think these are a good deal. The store that I go do did not have these but everything I have read about them lead me to one thing, they are E-Vents.

Thats all I got.

I only have a Grillz and a Proflex. I like the soft ears on the Proflex but besides that the Grillz are more comfy. I really want to try E-Vents and i4s. Like Shunt said, go to a store and try them on. However I would buy online, it's alot cheaper.

Thanks guys,

profilers are looking the best to me at the moment as they're the cheapest (far cheaper than e-vents and i4s..)

Plus you can put a soft ear mod on the Profilers. They look so sick and they're extremely comfy.

See if you can find someone near you who has the Invert Avatars. I think next to Profilers, Avatars are most comparable across the board.

Best answer yet in this thread: wait. Angel has a new set of goggles coming out, and Sly has the Profits coming around as well. Both are high-end masks and will be expensive, but undoubtedly well worth the wait to be able to consider them.

If you aren't willing to wait, Proflex has never let me down.

Sly is coming out with a mask!?!?

Sly came out with a mask, pretty sure you can purchase them already.

I'm way behind lol. That's a sick looking mask. I would get that.

So I was looking at pbreview and saw that a lot of people complain about the ventilation in the profiler, and because of that fog on the inside of the single pane lens. Soo my question for anyone who has them or has used them, how do you think the ventilation compares to other masks? I know that with my JT nForcers the ventilation wasn't the best, and heavy breathing would cause condensation to build inside, kindof a pain, also having your breathing restricted is annoying.

Do they make dual pane lenses for the profilers?

I never had a problem with fog in the Profilers I wore, but I haven never seen a dual pain lens for the Profilers.

I am on my second pair of grillz and they are by far my favorite. The quick change lens and ability to take the foam out is really nice. If paint gets logged anywhere you can strip it down to just the mask itself in about 5 sec and and soak the entire thing in water and not have to worry about getting the foam to dry. Plus there really easy to breath in.

I tried on the sly profit at my local shop, looks wise there meh to me but they are very comfortable. I was thinking about buying a pair but now I am waiting on the angel eyes, I am liking the new design they came up with by having the mask rest on your cheek bones and now smashed around your eyes. That is still two months out though.

If you need something now I would look at grillz or profit.

I used a profiler for what, 4 years? And when and if I come back it will be my mask of choice again - I like them that much. Never had problems with fogging, they were comfy and the fit was excellent.

Standard answer - if possible try some on first. Next to that, profilers are my fav...
