Well i found a reball arena here in rapid city, but i cannot use my spyder tl plus and tlXtra due to the fact that i cannot bring the FPS to 200fps. i dont want to use thier crappy beat up tippmans. im pretty much bottomed out at 265-270 on both guns. this is the closest place to play and i was hoping yall would help. found a spring shim kit but would like to have some opinions. thanks again everyone.

Spring shim kit is to raise your velocity, you want a pair of good lookin' spring kits. It doesn't matter what brand, but plop in the light main spring or the hard valve spring, and I guarantee you your velocity will plummet.

Found this thread

Valve spring replacement:
strong spring = lower velocity
medium spring = stock spring velocity
weak spring = higher velocity

Main spring replacement:
strong spring = high velocity
medium spring = stock spring velocity
weak spring = lower velocity

Thought it might help

wouldn't with a strong valve spring mean lower velocity because it needs more force to open it, and as it is stronger will have more force to return to closed so it should have less time open, making there be less air flowing through so lower velocity? or am i just completely misunderstood...

Sascha, you moron, he was right to begin with. :p

Harder valve means less velocity, as well as light main means less velocity.

if you want to decrease it it cheaply, cut the main spring a little

The harder it is to open the valve, the less air is let out. A feather light touch (light main spring) from the hammer won't open it as much as a sledge would (hard main spring). Lighter main spring is less velocity. Harder main spring is less velocity.

He mean't to say "Harder main spring is more velocity." lol

i probably will do this as i think i will do a complete overhaul of my TL Plus as it has been 8 years of play and no repairs.

and same for my wifes tlxtra

Well, he was trying to lower the velocity, so I figured I'd put it in those terms.
