well sometime back last year a man named longrow decided to take the spyder modding community one step further and take us down the path of pushing the limits of our spyders up once more. (http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2637124&page=6&highlight=micro+spyder)

Today i unveil one of the few spyders that have been micro modded, but first I must thank longrow for paving the way and vindeta (http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2999126&page=8)for helping out with a custom bolt and striker to use in my marker.

Why would i micro my spyder?
Well better efficiency though through shorter cycle and less mass to move. With the Right parts and tuning this spyder is theoretically the fastest and efficient spyder can possibly get.

How do i do this and should i do this if i'm a beginner?
The level of difficult is VERY HARD

BODY MODS
To do this you cut about 1.5" inches off the back, your striker must be about an 1" in lenght, The channels that allow the pin to connect to the bolt and striker must be moved farter forward, you bolt pin needs to be moved forward and fit so that the striker can hit the pin, and last but not least you may still want to mod the eyes when you done.
FRAME MODS
Well you going to move the frame as far as it physically can, A new hole will be drilled on the inside of the trigger guard and the excess material on the trigger guard will be cut off. To get the frame to meet the frame correctly you will have to file the bottom flat in the areas that you moved the frame forward. To connect the back part of the frame you will have to tap your back plate for the 10-32 threads so it has a place to hold on in back. Along with this you may wish to and inline holes and fit for eye wires.

I remind you this is just the quick breakdown of the micro spyder and i suggest you study the threads i have linked above to longrowe and vindeta before attempting this feat as they are more of a tutorial to do so. i may pick up another spyder or you may want to donate a spyder so i may make a tutorial in the future.

ok now for the good stuff
Well lets start off by just a list of parts in my marker :D this is always import to price out your marker before starting the project other wise it will never get done or will be done poorly.

VIDEO-

Now what you need to understand is that my spyder is so badass that it can leak and still work:evilgrin: J/K i couldn't find the valve retaining screw and it needs modification to fit and i would imagine that the leak will stop once the vavle is properly held in place. But still a slap in the face to all those who have spyder leaks. And to add i've been having trouble fitting my trigger to the frame, its so tight it sticks and i can not walk at the moment so just enjoy my failed attempt to walk the trigger.

Why no LPC?
lol but awesome mod.
My main reason for loving Spyders is because of the ease of modification

why do you want an lpc, doesn't really do much.
do you really think this mod is easy? I've only seen this done 3 times total and there are a lot of spyders out there.

thanks though

edit: oh man that spimmy project is slick looking.

Funny I drew up plans for a mod just like this 2 years ago and shared it in the chat. Glad to see. Someone took the ambition to do it though. Just fyi this can be made smaller yet

oh yes it can:D does this look like a finished project I left about .5" of room for a final cut when i'm ready, you know what they say measure once cut twice. err? maybe it was the other way around? I got a valve body screw to fit and that awful leak went away.
