TC coding is like DOT-E/SP codes for other countries besides the US of A.

what it means is that some countries besides the US require that TC stamp to be able to use the tank

Tank manufacturing is designed to meet either DOT or TC standards, and that is marked on the tank. Some tanks -- like the one you are referring to -- meet both standards and is marked as such.

It's just how the tank is manufactured, essentially. Each type of tank has a different denotation. DOT is USA only as far as I know, and TC is elsewhere. If you live in the USA, you need a DOT stamp. If you live somewhere outside of the United States, you need a TC stamp.

That's as far as it breaks down in lamest terms.
