Well, Dday is out….

As it turns out, I won’t be attending Dday with my daughter after all…this is not by choice though:

I spent 4 hours at the Emergency room last night because while I was at work, I managed to break my #4 and #5 metacarpal bones in my right hand. As to ‘how’…let’s just leave it at “I responded to a back up call.” It’s an OJI so pay is not an issue but boredom and anxiety are already setting in…lol.

I am out of commission for at least 6 weeks and that’s right in the week of Dday. I go to the orthopedic surgeon on Monday to see if I have to have pins installed and that would make my injury time longer still. Hopefully not, I’m in enough pain as it is.

My daughter is upset but very understanding and even tried her hand at humor by asking, “is he [the inmate] still alive?” That made me laugh…

As I type this on MS Word so I can copy/paste to all my forums, I can obviously only type left-handed and it is taking me forever to do it. My lack of participation in the forums only mirror my inability to type quickly, however I will still be on and answer when/where I can.

Pray for my wife’s sanity as I endeavor to have her committed by my 24 / 7 antics and mischievous nature…hahahaha.

no idea. I see the surgeoon onm monday. still it's wworkman conmp so i shouldnmt go nuts.

I feel your pain man. I broke both bones in my arm and had to have surgery on them, now I have a three inch titanium plate in my arm. I broke it on 2/7 and just got clearance to play yesterday.

Sorry to hear that. Just make sure you keep the cast intact and let nature take it's course. My best friend broke his fifth metacarpal a while back and had the bright idea of taking side jobs (he's a mechanic) to level his income (disability sucks) while he was off. So he trimmed the cast, there's a reason, long story short, there's a reason why it's so long, and he has the gimpy hand to prove it.

haha! reminds me of something i learned at the field on saturday after hearing about 2 kids pushing each other out of a bunker:
a friend will take a shot for you, but your best friend will use you as a human shield!
