Some of you may know that I sold my Spimmy to Tim (aka bigred). Shortly after selling it I had sellers remorse and wanted it back so I told Tim that if he ever decided that he didn't want it anymore or felt like selling it, to let me know and I would buy it back. So recently Tim IM'd me and said "You want to buy the Spimmy back?"

So......

There isn't a lot different about it. The LPR and HPR have been traded out for AKALMP's Sidewinder Reg and SCM III. Tim was able to find a rear decoration block to cover up the back part of the ram sleeve, which I milled to match the body lines. It has a Eigenram now instead of a stock ram. A WAS 2.9 board has replaced the Frenzy 127.4 but that is not going to stay that way, I'm going to go back to the Frenzy. It has a BL Gear Drive XPress mount On/Off (which is the best on/off I've ever had). It has also been milled for a 2k5 frame, not sure I'm going to switch over to a 2k5 frame but I can if I want. Only real plans I have right now is to get the rear decoration block ano'd black and I'm in the process of designing some SPD Grips.

might as well get a 2k5 frame anno'd when you get the deco block done. glad you got the gun back.

and tim is an ass for making me think he sold it on pbn...

If I was going to use it regularly, I might spend the money on a 2k5 frame, but I'm not. I'm going to use it at Castle Conquest next weekend, then I'm probably gonna hang it up on my wall. Only reason I'm getting the decoration block ano'd is because it looks unfinished, and it would drive me nuts hanging on my wall like that. The SPD grips are just because I have a cool idea for them.

Dre was pushing for an Empire or Critical style frame, but I just couldn't afford it.

2k5 would look the best on there, Alias just looks out of place.

Thats a beautiful gun! I know how easy it is to get attached to a paintball marker, lol, even considering the fact that it is an inanimate object, lol.

So now I've been looking at 2k5 style frames and I think the Critical frame would look pretty good on there. Still not sure I want to spend the money on a gun I'm not going to use, but its a thought. Maybe if I come across one used for the right price I'll jump on it.

DO NOT...get a Critical frame. Get either a 2k5 or an Empire frame. BL frames > aftermarket.

I think a 2k5 frame would look the best on it. Whats wrong with a Critical frame? I've never used one so I'm just curious.

Critical frames take 2k2 LED boards only. They also feel really, really odd. Here's one on a Texas Storm: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y109/bigred76/TexasStorm/IMG_9990.jpg

This one looks like it supports 2k5 LCD boards:

It does - there was one Critical frame that only worked with 2k2s though. IMO the best frame to get is the Bob Long 2k5 (not the Alias or Empire) because it supports both 2k2 and 2k5 boards + wiring. Not to mention they can be had for fairly cheap - I picked up a used BL 2k5 Timmy and parted it out for one ($125 off the nation) - the frame wound up being free. :D

I think a 2k5 frame would look the best on it.

IMO the best frame to get is the Bob Long 2k5 (not the Alias or Empire)

I have to agree that the 2k5 frame would go best on there. I don't like the Alias or Empire frames at all. I still doubt I will buy one. I've been looking around for one and thinking about it and I just can't justify buy more parts for a marker that I'm never going to use. I'm going to use it next weekend a little but after that, who knows when I'll use it again.

Makes sense, I didn't mind the Species with the 2k2 at all. it's just slightly more comfy with the 2k5.

Glad to see you got it back Shu. Don't ever trade or sell it again. Too much work from you on that and now it looks better than ever. By far, the best spimmy and it does look better than a lot of timmies fo sho.
