I ordered the BT-16 Apex for my MR2 and im wondering if i can put the shroud on a J&J ceramic (14 inch). I cant tell if it will fit or not. If anyone as put it (or any other shroud) on a J&J let me know and if you had to do any mods. thanks

im pretty sure the JJ fits the shroud however you will not have room on a 14" barrel for the shroud sight and apex tip unless of corse you remove the small shroud that comes stock on the MR2.

does that mean for just the regular barrel that comes with it wont fit? Because a lot of people say it will fit if you just move the shroud and sight up???

I had the same set up for a while and it does work. You do have to do a little modding. 1st the J&J is the same deminsion all the way down the barrel 7/8th so you will need to get a spacer for the end of the shroud ( closest to the trigger) which is 1 inch. I used electical tape but to be honest with you it was not very sturdy. The other thing I had to do was cut the little nob that sticks out the end of the front sight so it will fit with the Apex tip. Other wise Shady is right it will not all fit. If you cut the tip of the front sight it should give you just enough room for it to all fit
Hope that helps

so...the barrel is too small for the shroud and i will have to use electrical tape to build it up?

here is another question: i heard tall tales around hearing that ion threads will fit spyder, is that true?

for the tape question, would gorilla tape work better instead of electrical?

I dont think Ion thread would fit, as for the tape doesnt matter much.

Yes if you open the Apex tip you will notice that there is groove in the tip that holds it on. You need to fill in that space so the tip does not slide off.
Hope that Helps

would it just be easier to get a 16 inch barrel to make it all fit without cramming stuff onto it?

yes and IMO it looks alot better when its not all crammed together.

yup you wont notice a difference at all. very minimal amount of air will increase, very minimal amount of weight will be added. Nothing that you would notice.

Yes you bet. The only reason that I did that on mine is because I already had the 14 inch barrel and was not going to by an other. If I had started doing that mod from the begining I would have bought the 16 inch
