View Full Version : What gun?

After playing alot of speedball type games at a park the other day I'm really wanting a second gun to use for this type of game. I love my MR1 but it really can't keep up with the fast paced game very well. So far a Smart Parts Ion is looking good but I don't have the cash yet so I'm still open to suggestions. I'm looking for something in the under $200 price range and would prefer it to run on Co2. Also looking for suggestions on loaders. What do you guys think?

just fyi the ion doesnt run on CO2 well technically it does if you have an anti siphon but i wouldnt suggest this. I would upgrade to a HPA tank you can find some for relatively cheep. As for the loader i would look into either a Halo or Reloader B both really good hoppers. The halo uses eyes and the reloader B is sound activated.

hoppers (under $100):
i'd get the electra over the ion because it will function better on co2. while you CAN run co2 on most SP guns, its not reccomended.

RS , Reloader-B Halo-B, egg 2 or 3 I say Rs becouse it is simular to what you know and seam to like. It also youses the same barrel threads.I just know that my VS 2 works well for me.

get rid of the CO2, you will be much happier with HPA

Just FYI I get my Co2 from a friend for free so I'm not about to switch to HPA.

Alright well if you dont want to upgrade to HPA id start to look at other guns then the ion the new electras look nice like DF said

Either the new Electra or the RS both can run on CO2 and don't look like bad guns. For a hopper I would have to say either a Halo or Empire, both are good and are cheap.

yeah, i would go with the new electra
i do have one question about that gun though, will it run fine with co2 even if its not anti siphoned?

Thanks for the input guys. Looks like an Electra would be my best bet, along with an empire reloader B.
Just wondering though, I saw the spyder RT on actionvillage for $100. Anybody know anything about it? It didn't have any specific stats on their and I didn't see it anywhere else but it's got the rocking trigger on it.

http://www.actionvillage.com/010-214-0116 is the link for the Spyder RT '09. Heck, it's $100 for an E-Spyder. That's pretty good. I'd look at a used marker, though, like a used RSX.

If you buy it NEW an E-spyder will do. Otherwise I'd look for something used.
RS will probably be the most high-end gun. Considering the Mag and autococker aren't electric and are a bit pricey. I would probably start out with a simpler E-spyder so you're not breaking a new gun as soon as you get it.
Things that can run on co2 semi-efficiently:
Don't get an Ion and put co2 in it please. I saw someone on the field do it and blow his solenoid as soon as he aired it. He decided to air it pointing down, then took a dozen shots pointed down.
