you should adjust so it works the way you need it to.

lower psi till gun cant cock, then raise it 10-15 psi until it does.
Now fire faster, if it works good job your done, if not repeat the first step.

Now Chrono your gun, since your at the lowest OP odds are you will turn it up to reach 280fps velocity.

Congratulations if your lucky that's it!

Don't forget to shoot a couple times after each adjustment to rebalance the regulator, then check the FPS.

^ If you don't do that it could really screw up the gun.

how so? i've tried breaking that damn balance valve and i have only failed in doing so and it still works like a champ. It will run a little funny if he forgets to do that but it will work.

Well I know if you have the pressure to high it isn't to good for the gun so I wouldn't recomend doing it.

I see a safety issue here, it's called, knowing what velocity you're shooting at - :o

What you should do it get to a chronograph, turn the velocity adjuster about 1/2 way out, lock it there, use the reg to acquire a relative 280fps then lock it as well. If you're looking to pressure over to velocity, you've missed the big picture. You get no e-cookies for shooting at the lowest pressure on teh block - ;)

fix your leak like you suggested, re chorno and turn down the reg

umm. well get your gun properly cycling then take the tank off and degas the marker. leave the marker cocked so that you weaken the spring and the velocity will drop after a period of time.

I don't know what else to say. cut the spring which is a permanent fix but could be very drastic if you cut to much.
