I can finally post !!! :D

OK, I'm 38 years old, and for my very first paint ball marker I didnt want a maker that looked like it was from StarTrek.... so I ended up getting the MR1.

LOVE it, I live in the city limits so no shooting, but I can with this. Toss a Coke can out in the yard and go at it, I will be joining a group to go and play woods ball with this spring.

For now I can start working on it to look like what a Navy Seal would carry.

Yeah I'm an old guy for paint ball but I just want to shoot some of these young kids and make them cry !

Pain is the name of the game...

I think Navy seals use more weapon types than any other fighting group... that is a tall order.. :)

Here is a link to some of the types they use currently.

If you see what you have in mind, let us know and I am sure someone can point you to the upgrade parts you are looking for.

and I'm not that far from 38 myself...

Right now I'm getting a Bob Long 45 trigger frame, I'll mod the stock trigger.

No way will I pay $75 at RAP4 for a Phantom hand guard when I can make one that will look just as good !

High rise mount and Spyder 42mm Red Dot and the TacLite.

Then the only thing I'd want is a new mount for the (ASA) I think its called so that the tank isn't on an angle but level with the gun ! This I will need help with...

for an mp5, how does this look. i could prob mod it to fit mr1s

you don't? it's the valve roll pin ( it keeps the striker from beating the **** out of you solenoid valve) if you didn't have it, your valve would be wrecked

Get a Palmers female stabilizer... if you are using CO2 (even if you are not) it will really improve you gun over all and it is a straight mount...

Thanks guy but I have a new plan in the works. Mount a modified stock unit under the front grip/mag on a solid pipe not the flex hose.

is that an emr1

NOPE ! After alot of looking around I see a few things diff from mine and others.... mine has a longer body..

Look at the distance from the front sight and the ball feed... also the front sight of the other gun notches down after it levels off and mine dont !

I also see it came with 2 diff trigger guards, the first was a smooth front to the bottom then turned to the frame, mine and others has a notch in the front for you to hold !

Yep they have changed a little from when they first came out...

We need to get a rep in here to lets use know !

seeing as you think spyder has a solenoid valve it makes me think you have not even looked at your own Spyder manual. but never the less i doubt that is what its for, possibly in theory it would work that way but it would only be there if the valve was loose, remember as soon as the pin is hit air starts to flow and well pushed the striker back. just as well as already stated the new ones and most newer models don't use it.

WHY buy a semiauto paintball marker and mod it for fullauto ?

I was looking up MR1 videos on YouTube and alot of them was about fullauto mods......

Buy A FullAuto !

I like it so far.... if you are still looking at a stabilizer, check out palmer-pursuit.com (http://www.palmer-pursuit.com) I bought two female versions (one for MR-1 and one for my MR2 ) but I think you might like the direct version, or buy the lapco spyder vertical ASA and get the male version. With the vertical ASA adapter you get lot of options to use the other regualtors/stabilizers.

check my sig for my MR-1 for what I'm talking about...

oh.. and if you are gonna keep the 'stock' stock, dog leg it by cutting the top part off.. I can post a pic if you need to see what I mean. It will keep it out of the way of your mask and the piece is plenty sturdy with out the top bar.

My MR1 so far..

Ok... update. No longer looking to make it like the MP5 but more like that of the old MAT-49.

My stock is plastic, not alum like others I've seen that did the dogleg mod...
I'm really thinking of ditching my stock and making one out or 1/4 steel rod and mount it on both sides of the body, come back and bend down for a shoulder stock like that of some other SMGs from the later years....
Also it will slide closed for pistol use.

As for the air system...... I'm keeping the factory front clip, replace the hose with a steel pipe, my ASA is being milled flat on the top and drill/tap the top for the pipe. It will screw on the bottom of the clip and end up making the clip with a 90* ASA fitting of sort.

I wont be able to use anything bigger than an AirSource tank mounted as it will hit the trigger frame's bottom. But thats fine with me as when I want to shoot alot I'll use a remote line and a 20oz tank..

ii sports is a great place. they have a bunch. you can get them for cheap if you get an auction that no one bids on. i got matching left and right leg holsters for about $10 each.

all mr1 stocks are "plastic". the dogleg mod will work fine, its a really strong composite material.

Except they won't/can't ship to Canada! Damn Yankees! ;) (joking)

I would love to get that grip, if someone was willing to buy one and ship it to me i'd pay shipping + cost + service fee (name your price) for one. When my brother goes back to San Fran maybe i'll have it shipped there....

OK work done today so far...

Got my ASA back, my 16 year old daughter is the only girl in machine shop and she's got an A+ ..... she milled the top and drill/tap'd it.
Also turned the front plug for me also.

I was setting up the length on the pipe for my airline.. A little to long. Time to cut and re-thread it.

After I got that right I went to work with my 4 1/2" angle grinder making a place for the Air Source to fit snug under the trigger frame. I'll finish it up in the morning...

interesting. dont forget to plug the front so the air doesnt go out the ASA. and if you have a dremel (or just a round file) you can shape the trigger some more too.

I almost screw'd a new Air Source on last night to test for leaks and realized I didnt have a plug for it..... That would have been fun...

I have an air die-grinder, so yeah I have a Demel, but I dont have much more metal I could take off the trigger, I like it as is anyways.

I'll work on the tank relief a little more then clean and smooth it all up...

Got to get it ready for when nicer weather gets here so I can get out and shoot it.....

What you need is a spyder metric compatible plug. There is a store here in Ottawa that I can buy screws/bolts in bulk that fit, for about 40 cents. i could find one that fits and mail it to you. (i'm going there anyway tomorrow, so I'll look for on that fits.) I'll swap you for your male to male spyder thread piece if you want, I stripped mine! :)

Got all my work done... now to refinish it....
What do you guys think so far ? Only thing now is to get a high rise mount and red dot..

I'm ditching the idea on the wire stock deal and just keep the factory one.

The front hole on the ASA I'll see if I can get a quick conect nipple with a one-way ball valve so I can refill the Air Source on the gun :D ....

I don't know if you can refill the tank that way, and I don't think you can refill one of those little tanks (aren't they disposable?). I bet if you go looking at a local hardware store, you can find a metric plug for the front of the ASA. Just be sure to use teflon tape to keep it sealed. It looks pretty sweet!

On a side note - try to find a 9 oz CO2 tank - they are pretty small, and I wonder if they will fit that set up. I have an extra one that I can take some measurements from if you want.

I dont even know yet.... but it will be just fine for around the back yard, remote line and 20oz for the field..

The guys I chat with about Crosman airguns use a oneway nipple to bulk fill the guns front tube, so I know it will fill the 88g tank. Also they even have a deal to reuse them and refill.. at home anyways.

no, the spare air tanks arent refillable. the only way you'd be able to fill a tank (and it would have to be HPA, co2 wont work) would be to put a fill nipple on it like you said, then put some kind of on/off valve between the ASA and gun. i saw a guy try to fill up his tank without cutting off the airflow to the gun, and it didnt work.

I did a little research and found out that the thread on the front of the ASA and all spyder hoses is M10 fine thread (M10 x 1.25 pitch) so if you need to find a plug for the front of your ASA that is what you will need. I found a hex head bolt (20mm long; about 10mm too long, but you can trim it.. get your machinist daughter to do it :-) ) and an o-ring that will seal it well. I'm sure you can find one locally, but if you can't i'll mail it.
