this is cool

From Tiberius Arms -

Paintball's First Sniper Round

Utilizing a combination of aerodynamic shape and fin stabilization technology, First Strike Projectiles maintain their velocity longer. The result is 50% greater range and unrivaled accuracy. Finally players have an alternative to accuracy by volume or backspin gimmicks that simply change trajectory. Become one of the first true paintball snipers with first strike. First Strike conversion kits are available for all Tiberius Arms markers.

Test conducted by firing 5 paintballs and 5 First Strike Projectiles from the same marker at the same velocity (300fps) from a bench mount at a 45 degree angle

Max Range of a standard paintball - 337 feet
Max Range of First Strike Projectile: 510 feet

Test conducted by firing 15 standard paintballs and 15 first strike projectiles from the same marker, on a bench mount, at the same velocity (290fps) on an indoor range at 100 feet.

Watch it being discussed at Warpig.com http://warpig.com/paintball/technical/tradeshows/pbextra09/
on PigTV. Looks promising,Ammo is made out of some type of plastic. Discribed as rigid But will shatter(like a potato chip).Makes it fly more like real ammo(not paint)

nice idea but idk about being shot at by a person shooting paint w/ chunks of plastic attached even if they do break on impact..that plastic still has to go somewhere..

I'm guessing you would have to have some type of clip loading system? Or feed one at a time?

looks like a mini badmittin bird thingy. you know what i mean. tem dollars for what 5? sounds pricey but maybe for a big woods game where a sniper would really important. wonder if many fields would allow them

I would definitely get these if I could use them in my marker. Too bad it requires mags...

i just thought of something. since my TL Plus has a rubber ballfeed stopper that i can turn to prevent balls feeding into chamber, i can use these sniper rounds as a muzzle-load ammo. instead of unscrewing my barrel just stop the balls and push the round into the chamber with a rod. if i get into a heated battle, turn the stopper and down comes my hopper fed balls. awsome!!

well if that thing hit my balls, and i figured out who was shooting them, i'd kick their ass ( or want to) if they're as big as me ( im only 15 and 125) or tell the ref.

XSiv Force

Hold on.......Ive shot been shot and seen people shot by theses and have never seen a shot like that.......here is the problem i see with what that forum guy says.....he said it was 30 ft at 250 fps........now the question that needs to be asked is was it chronoed to 250 WITH the First Strike or was it chronoed with a normal ball then place the first strike into it?.........When i was shot by it it was 30 ft and it wasnt THAT bad....Honestly it wasnt even close to looking lke that. The people i shot didnt come close to that........Now what he said about the "fins" on the back not breaking he is close ...........they dont break as in Shattering they break as in to 2 or 3 pieces...............................wow now i know how bigred feels on his rants....and ive done a 3rd of one of his

no, if somebody's shooting those, and they're causing that much injury ( bleeding sac) he would prob make him stop
and all i know is if it did that to his arm, those could make for one bad day of paintball

No one said it happened everytime, they just said it happened, some shoots end up being worse then others. its unclear what round was used to chrono but even if it was a normal paintball this first strike isnt going to increase 50 plus BPS so whats your point with what round was used to chrono?

Either way think its worth taking into consideration if you are planning on using these.

dont know how I would have missed that thread, but there could be alot of reasons why your marker showed that much increase. how consistant does it shoot to beginwith ect.

But im going to leave it up to people to draw there own conclusion, I have never used the new paintballs myself so Icant draw a fair conclusion. Based on the amount you used you cant rightly say something like that couldnt happen when you only shoot a few.

that was done with my pump piranha......which using 12 grams shhots 265-272 normally............The review was with 10 rounds....but look at the date i have played more games with more of these rounds..........

slim and shady
04-23-2009, 02:53 PM
all im saying is that your marker is not consistant, its not just the paintball, I am going to grab a tube of these one day and throw them in a highend consistant marker and see how much the velocity changes im willing to bet though it wont go up 50 FPS.

And take me out of your sig!

WTF? do people t-bag each other at your field. I don't know how you would operate a marker while t-bagging anyway.
