Hey, I was having small issues with some of the paint that I've been using and I was wondering what you all use. I've been using Stryker paintballs, but I've been having some issues with some of them being deformed and slipping past my detents. I would appreciate some recommendations on paintballs.

P.S. I can't afford Marballizer. lol

DXS/Procaps is good, Diablo's good, RPS is awesome, XO sucks, JT sucks, WGP sucks... pretty much you will get what you pay for. Buy a good, quality paint for a decent price and you can expect decent performance. But with Stryker at a cheaper price... expect crappy performance. :)

My home field uses Diablo paint. I really liked it, but its kinda pricey. But I guess thats part of playing paintball. I rarely ever notice any deformed paintballs with Diablo.

Visible Impact and Stryker are the same stuff made by the same company. If I remember correctly, it's just got a different colored shell. It used to be called Dusk and that was the best paint I've ever shot, hands down. I actually rank it up there with Xball (gold and silver). I believe it's (VI/Stryker and Dusk) made by RPS, but could be wrong on that as well.

I actually like Visible Impact/Stryker. For cheap paint, it's actually good stuff. It's usually round, breaks on contact and not in my guns. It's a bit small, but that's ok. If I had a choice between some of the other paint I've shot and this stuff, I'd go with this stuff because some was just crap.

I agree with Bigred. DXS/procaps stuff, Diablo's stuff and RPS stuff is awesome. Also, I like Nelson, but not all their stuff. We were actually looking at a sponsorship by XO, but it was such crappy paint we passed that one up in a hurry. I must be the only person in the world that dislikes Heat, because everyone else I talk to loves the stuff.

DXS Gold isn't ok, it's very good. I use DXS Bronze ($42 a case I think) and if I can't go to a Paintball store before hand I use Impact from WalMart which is pretty good for only $40 a case.

idk if its cuz im the north east coast and the pricing is a bit higher or they are trying to make a awsome profit?

Is it indoor? If so it's probably they are trying to make a profit. Those fields are very expensive.

At the indoor we play at, it is DXS Field paint with the field's "custom shell." Really inexpensive :dodgy: at $75 a case before we get our frequent flyer discount (which brings it down to $60 so it isn't so bad!).

Gotta admit though, the paint shoots great!

my home field uses kick'n paint and the most expensive case of 2000 is 45 i think. the cheap rec paint is 30 a case. shoots great. other than that its all been what was at the tourney or the field i was playing at. i dont buy my own paint anymore considering that most fields wont let you shoot any paint but theirs plus most fields are cheaper anyway

vike i believe V.I is made by procaps.

but i shoot X-ball inferno(or diablo inferno, idfk what to call it, it says x-ball on the box.), and RPS stinger. My most favored paint has to be Nelson NelSplat. hands down

Ok, that sounds better. I thought RPS sounded funny for that paint. Doesn't RPS have a paint on the shelves at Wal-Mart, though?

From the Wal-Mart website, they carry RPS "Big Ball"

Anyone have any experience with monster balls from wal-mart?

extrabonez
01-27-2009, 03:26 PM
i have never used monster balls, but i have been hit by them...they dont feel great at all. they are packaged so bad they get flattened out and then they never break. I usually use either nelson hotspot, precision, or fluid hydro and i have seen i think it was on here people said visible impact is good if you get a good case. i got some visible impact for like 20 bucks for like 1000..a little pricy compared to my other paint but it worked great for me, with my viewloader orion(i know crappy but 6 bucks from a yard sale) with c02 on thanksgiving but it worked great

Depends on what marker i am using. If i'm using my MR3 or BT4, i shoot core or inferno, $45 a case. If i'm shooting my T9, i use Allstar at $60 a case. The T9 is very picky about paint.

HAHA, I once had friends shooting monsterballs at me and I was hit 3 times, 2 in the mask, and once in the shoulder. He was pretty pissed becuase none of them broke, lol.
But they're just so cheap, how to resist? lol

i think if they can get their act toether with monster balls they would be pretty nice but i havent used them in a year....oh another brand to stay away from is VooDoo......they would ricochet off of hard surfaces and bust on the next surface i personally like RPS Stingers i love the brittleness of the shell they have never busted in any gun/hopper combo ive used but will always bust on target

Once my dad tried to bunker me and both of us were ramping (capped at 15bps) and we both shot each other about 10 times from less then 5 feet away. Both of us were using Monsterballs and it hurt alot haha. Yeah for the price though they aren't bad.

Someone else thinking what I'm thinking? :D

Monster Balls and Bonus Balls are essentially mainstream reballs with a little bit of paint in them. I use them in the backyard sometimes just screwing around, it makes it easier than picking up all the shell fragments. ;)

The only experience I've ever had with Stryker is a bad experience. However for the same price let me recomend Visible Impact (Walmart) It's not great but it's just as cheap as Stryker and it's way better.

WPN Elixir, I recently started using it and I absolutely love it. They never bounce and they dont break in my setup. They are very brittle so I dont know how they would work in different operating pressures then matrixes.
