Wow, I miss having a youngster like that...

Things change so fast with kids. My oldest just got her driver's license Friday. :( And my youngest now has a "steady" boyfriend.

Enjoy it while they're still young.

Edit: That sounded flipping depressing. What I meant was that having a baby is a special time and one of the coolest times in a parent's life. You're a lucky man!

Yeah, they do that, too. And then beat you at the game to make it worse! :nododgy:

Got one, and a whole arsenal from my brother. He's my firearms link...and he's BIG and pretty mean! He's an oily - works for a wireline company and spends a lot of time picking up heavy things and blowing stuff up - so he's pretty well connected, if you know what I mean.

We've already got the whole act down. I've informed my daughters that the "young man" MUST come to our house and come inside before picking them up. Otherwise, it's no go. Then, just before the boy comes to pick up my daughter, my brother's going to bring another big friend of his over and get in a "fight" on my front yard. While the kid is watching, I'm going to come out of the house and beat the living crap out of them for fighting on my lawn. Then, once we go inside and view the array of firearms I'll have prominently displayed, I'm going to step out of the room and my brother's going to look at the kid then tell him, "Whatever you do, don't piss him off!"

That, and coupled with the fact that most of the boys in this town who are my daughter's age know me from school and know I don't take crap from kids, ought to keep them thinking about things for awhile.

Oh, as far as what happens AWAY from my house, I've taught my daughters to respond to a young man's unwanted "attention" by giving the boy their cell phone and telling them to call and ask me if it's all right. If I say it's ok, them they can go ahead and continue...

Not to hijack this thread, or anything! :p Gotta prepare Deano for what to teach his son!

I think what he means is enjoy them while they're young before they become a teen and think they know everything -

GRATS! -
