Does any one have any ideas for home made early warning devices? I need to make something for a scenario coming up. I was thinking of tying fishing line or thread across a trail, so when stepped on or moved it would make noise. was going to use old aluminum cans, but can't figure out how to make them rattle loud enough. Any ideas???

Early warning? Try something like this (http://www.opticsplanet.net/aimheat35.html)-

Hah, add this (http://www.opticsplanet.net/mounsysforai.html) and you are deadly -

Land mines? The paint kind, not the deadly kind...

While your at it you could go ahead and rig up some guns where they'll just shoot 'em as soon as they pull the rope or whatever. ;)

person alarms. They run on a pull pin all you need to do is secure them where you want them to be and they are very load. The only problem we find is that they get annoying they dont shut off until the pin is placed back into its original position.

You probably need to read the rules for your scenario. They may not allow "tripping" devices. I.E. no trip line activated devices so you'll need to go with the I.R. stuff.

the rules stated that we could use booby traps, as long as the line was breakable. We used sewing thread and jingle bells. No one tripped them, but i made sure the other teams saw them before the game. The psychological effect must have worked because the whole time, no one ever probed our flanks. They always came straight at us.
