you may be able to directly from microsoft, failing that though, im sure you can buy a copy off ebay or if you go to your local computer store im sure they could point you in the right direction.

Just a sidenote though, why don't you just bite the bullet and go with Vista? Sure it takes a little getting used to and all that, but after you get used to it, its really not that bad. (BTW, to anyone who has problems with the way those security popups keep asking you if you want to do things, such as like open files and all that, if you open an administrator account those all go away... i think it may be something like superadmin though, not really sure the full name of it)

Newegg has it.

I have begun to prefer Vista, myself.

Edit: Badlands, to permanently disable User Access Control, just click Start and type "msconfig" in the search box, then hit enter. Go to the "Tools" tab and then scroll down to "Disable UAC". Reboot, and you're good. You will get an annoying pop up in your task bar letting you know that you're running as an admin, though.

Best price I've seen for XP Win(not Mac) is here (http://cdsfu.com/index.php?categoryID=87) -

I was going to change from Vista back to XP but decided Vista is somewhat a PITA but I suppose eventually I'd need to go that route so may as well stick it out now rather than put it off -

I'd be a little wary of that website. According to several Google results it's a scam. :(

512mb is the minimum requirement with Vista if memory serves me right. It's also a pain all around, even with UAC turned off.

Ebay might be your best bet for cheap XP.

Vista is awesome if you have 2GB+ of memory. It's more than tolerable with 1GB. 512MB is a death sentence.

Then again, I won't even run XP on less than 1GB.
