but the first three that came to mind were:
"my moms going to kill me"
"i <3 the pawn shop" and
"tims selling guns, im buying guns!"

i'll get pics up when i get home tonight, but heres my latest score, $148 after taxes from the pawn shop!

bob long signature series cocker in camo splash (factory?) anno
air america unireg w/ aschroft gauge
and all the original goodies:
3 way cover
.689 bl/ss long shot barrel
trigger frame engraved with "used by california team ironmen"
bl/ss cyclone bolt
and almost, if not all, the original brass parts: trigger shoe, fittings, and QD on a ss hose.

better not let my mom find out because she WILL kill me for buying another gun!

oh, and it has a shocktech LPR too and the bottom of the 3-way shroud looks like custom fitted neoprene (not sure if thats how the originals were, i always thought they were plastic).

pics uploading as i type this, will edit my first post.

i did some research, and apparently these were hand-made by bob and distributed for 2 years in the early 90s.

The shrouds were all rubbery... the top of that one looks metal. Thats unique.

DFSniper

yeah, i looked up the serial number, and it should be a '95. the top of the shroud is metal, and the bottom is neoprene.

You'd think they could lazer engrave it center haha.

DFSniper

yeah, thats what i was thinking.

after taking the reg off, i realized that it weights as much as the gun itself! but it feels really unbalanced with a lighter reg on it.

also, theres a few dents on the sight rail and some rubbing on the anno around the edges, but on the inside, theres only 2 light scratches on the bolt and 1 in the top tube (result of the detent hitting the bolt and bolt hitting the body) and some rubbing on the bolt, but other than that, the gun is pretty much flawless. not bad for a 13, almost 14 year old gun.

You lucky son of a gun.
I've always wanted one of those Bob Long cockers. Love the anno on it.

Slap a new reg, macro and a new ASA on it and you're all set.

DFSniper
12-02-2008, 02:38 PM
yeah, i have a unimount and det coming in from battlechaser (he said the det needs some work) and then i'll see what happens. i wanted to take that red uni and put it on my spyder, but then i'd have to swap on/offs between the timmy and cocker. i may just leave the red one on the timmy though, since the cocker doesnt have a safety button and it would be smart to use the on/off instead. i'm not sure if i'll put the det on the timmy and throw the torp on the cocker or not.

Rip off the pneumatics and throw on a pump kit. :)

trust me, the first two things i'm getting with christmas money is a chrono and pump kit.

i went to my friends house to figure out what was wrong with it, and it turns out the 3 way was in too far, so it wouldnt recock. now it works fine, but i broke a barb in the process :(

Small Philips screwdrivers / torx bits are great for getting those out.. :D

Again, sweet gun man.

Just another reason to go pump! The CCM kits are great if you want to spend that much. I'm not sure if WGP is still making their kits but they were really impressive for about half the price of the CCMs back in the day.

i'll look into the wgp kits, but wevo and pmp only sell ccm kits, so i havent seen anything else yet.

edit: found a Vendetta kit for $40 from directpaintball.com. anyone ever heard of them?

Just so you know that is a '90's based cocker so you will need a pump kit to fit pre-99 cockers.

Going off the serial number it was produced in roughly 1995.

DFSniper

i think its a '95. the site i'm looking at sells 2k and pre-2k kits. thanks for trying to watch out for me though.

Single rod design works ok but dual rods are much more stable and provide a smoother action.
