I have an evolution 3 hopper on my MR3 and it sits way to high. I keep getting whacked because they see my hopper before they see me. i am ordering a new feed neck, but was wondering if i could cut off some of the feed tube on the hopper with out it affecting the hopper working correctly. if you look at the picture you will see the clear tube between the hopper and the feed tube. Can some of that off? I'm thinking if i cut the space of one ball it will work...Any help is welcome

a lot of people do it.

I did it to mine many years ago and it worked great. Also, if you can manage to get a smaller feedneck, that'd help as well.

I plan on getting the maddog one or the trinity. How much did you cut off? thanks

Hmmm, I guess it was quite a bit. The back part sat nearly on top of my shocker with it's low rise feedneck. I'd have to measure one now, though, and compare it to mine to get an accurate length.

Thanks, I think i'm going to cut out enough for 1 ball. If i mess up I guess i will just have to buy a new hopper

Hmm, I'd just shave it down as much as is sticking up out of the top of the feedneck before the bend. After getting in your new feedneck you can make further adjustments to the length, but keep in mind that you want as much of the feedneck of the hopper as possible in the marker's feedneck.

After I read this, I think I remember this is the way I did it, but it was so long ago.

get a trinity feedneck, they make some that cover the eye wires (unlike the ones that they make for the MR2 and MR1). I'm not sure if the maddog feednecks cover the eye wires or not.

you want this one

instead of this one

I have decided to wait on modding my hopper feedneck, and getting a new one for my MR3. I am buying a red dot from a friend and want to see if it will interfere. Also, the wife got a little upset after see found out i ordered a new barrel, remote and harness. I guess i shouldn't tell her about the other camo stuff i ordered huh????

is it centerfed or is it offset? because i was wondering about this working with a full tube sight

its off set, but the eggy still blocked a sight. I traded my red dot for a halo b.

oh, ok because i was wondering because i have been looking into MR's and have an eggy, so that would be my main hopper so yeah..

Don't get me wrong, I love the eggy, works great, never had a problem. There are just 2 things i don't like. 1. its loud, when you run out of paint everyone knows it. 2. the shape, it just doesn't look right on the marker. If I was any good i would take a ricochet hopper and put the bottom half of the eggy on it.
