Here are some pics I got when the hurricane came through:

Sunset friday, obviously can't tell from still pic but you could actually see the hurricane rotation in the clouds:

Taken alittle later when the wind picked up and storm really started to show:

Random pic of my dog with her ears flying back from the wind:

There are a TONS of trees around us that just got destroyed, there are branches and leaves all over the place. I already raked up six 33 gallon trash bags full of crap just from the front yard. Amazing thing is every house with in about a 15 miles radius lost power except are neighborhood. We lost cable and internet service for about 24 hrs. but it is back on now.

As for our house the roof is a total loss, there is the big patch missing from the pic above plus several 3ft sections missing all over the place. We had water coming into the second floor last night when it rained, woke up to weird sound and quickly realized it was water dropping on the carpet. Had to put out buckets for now. Roof will be replaced sometime this week.

Is that first gif a different view in both shots? It looks like the tree that was growing underneath was washed away, and there are people under there now? Weird.

Excellent pictures, by the way. And so glad you're safe! We're getting the wind fom Ike now - for the first time since maybe July, it's dang windy here!

oh yeah, its really windy here too. mostly leaves, twigs, trash cans, and the occasional trees on powerlines.

I'm getting the wind up here in OH. I was emptying out the wallet to refill the gas in my car and a piece of metal came flying straight at my head, not good because that could have killed me if I didn't move.

Is that first gif a different view in both shots?

Its alittle different, 1st one I was standing closer when it was dry, after it came through it was really muddy so I was standing farther over.

Pics I got tonight, only light is from headlights and taillights as all the power is out around me:

hurricanes FTL. ike spared us..it was supposed to be a direct hit for us.

i usually worry for the gulf states cause you guys arent too used to hurricanes.

most houses nowadays require a form of window protection.....shutters and stuff.

glad u, your family, and your house are ok.
