I saw the other member's thread about a WW2 bayonet, and I decided to post some pictures of my own. These were my grandpa's before he past away, and now they are my property. All I know is that one is German, and the other is American. There are some markings. I just wanted to see if anyone could tell me what type, or what gun they would go on.

First is the American:

And the German...

yep that goes on an M1, nice bayonets man, im happy to see im not the only one who has this stuff :D as for the "german" bayonet, are you sure thats german? that looks like a british lee enfield bayonet to me. Maybe not, idk, im looking for it, ill see if i can ID it.

that german bayonet its kinda hard to ID, i havent seen any but the kar 98ks just because that was the most widely used german arm of wwII. That bayonet might be what is called an Ersatz bayonet, look it up and see if thats it.

maximus...your german bayonet looks more like a British MK1 SMLE used on the Enfield. Is there a piece broken off on it also?

yeah thats exactly what I was thinking, I have never seen a german bayonet like that, most german bayonets have a sort of curl to the mid peice between the handle and the blade.
