Got this a little while ago and thought I'd post it since there seems to be some carbon fiber nutz around here. Don't think they are quite available to the public yet -

Had to remove the dealer price from the pic but it MSRP's for fiddy-nine bucks which ain't bad considering that's not MAP. Never ventured into CF but I may pick one of these up for my PMR and see what gives -

Anybody know how well they shoot?

And will a .688 or a .689 be availible in the future?

Just got off the phone with my bud who is a pretty big wheel at KEE and he mentioned there is only one bore size currently and that's a .090. So much for 2nd/3rd/4th....generation PbN info lol. There is no plan currently for any other bore sizes. Since most paints are relatively .689, don't think other sizes matter too much. They are already available to dealers, so you should see them sporadically popping up soon -

Now a question; last time I heard anything about CF barrels was quite a while ago and the one in topic was the Stiffi. It was well over $100 for that barrel. I didn't take a second thought about purchasing it at that price. Do they still cost that much and are there any other brand CF's available now? I know some of the Stiffi's come in 2 piece as well(or maybe it's you can buy tips for other barrels....). Are these a much better deal at $59 MSRP, which I found out is currently MAP as well? -

Over-boring is not in any way FTW. From experience, I can honestly tell you that you WANT a good paint/bore match.

I rock a .684 UL on my Cocker and it hugs the paint just enough to keep it from rolling out, and gives me dead on accuracy. I also use DXS Silver and Bronze.

If they make a .684, I might pick one up for my Cocker. I'm looking for something a little more light, considering the Cocker is already a heavier gun.

hmm... the field here only has small bore paint :(

and yes dragon, i believe the stiffi and deadly wind barrels are still $100+

Overboreing is FTW. You cant compare the rest of the markers and a closed bolt Cocker, where the bore of the barrel is what keeps the paint from rolling.

BACK ON TOPIC.

Drago, if you do get one let me know what you think. I have a few CF barrels and love them, but the cost is killing me to get any more.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that disagreed with him - from my experience overboring is FTW in almost all cases (can't think of anytime when it's not) and with some paint not only FTW but a necessity just to keep it from blowing up in the barrel. By the way, I'm dead on accurate as well with my overbored Lucky 15 (.691 barrel) and freak kit.

Seriously back on topic now!

Might be a barrel I'll look into - been wanting a CF barrel for awhile. Let us know how they are!

For those of your discouraged by DW's price, keep in mind they use Freak inserts, so really you're buying a barrel kit.

I just got a Deadly Wind Fibur carbon fiber barrel for my SFT Shocker and I'm very pleased with it. I only bought the 2 largest bore freak inserts since the smaller ones almost never get used. http://store.deadlywind.com/product/a52da757-bb49-4c95-891b-4e1953742e12.aspx
It's $90.

I use Stiffis and love them tremendously. Dead on accurate, super light and super quiet. I find that the .689 works well with most paints. I also have a Stiffi kit but didn't like it as much as the one piece. The 2 piece kits tend to get stuck to the gun when trying to take them off. I also like the look of the one piece kits more but the look sin;t always a concern to most people.
