I know some of people noticed my return a couple of days back but I wanted to say hello to everyone. I know some people may know me from the times long long ago (near 10,000 posts on the old board). I also used to be a mod here until my disappearance. All of that though is in the past and I am back again.

A little update on what I've been doing for the last 2 years. First off, College. This was the main reason for my disappearance. I will be and incoming Junior at the University of Dayton majoring in Economics, Marketing, and MIS. Second semester I pledge the business Fraternity Delta Sigma Pi and my free time dropped even lower.

Through out that time I still played paintball a bit and took 6th place last year in D4 PSP Chicago Open.

Now for the fun. This past summer I have been studying business in Europe. I have been to Germany, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, England, Wales, and Ireland where I currently am right now.

Damn. That looks pretty sweet. I want to go to europe just to see the old castles and buildings for 100's of years ago. They look so interesting. Good pictures, too.

geez, ive lived in germany a total of 8 years, and the only places i've been outside of germany are slovakia (built playgrounds), italy (2 week church camping trip), salzburg (austria), and stenay (small city in france). i could've gone to the hague for a Model UN trip, but i had a marksmanship championship to go to, and a liechtenstein trip that got cancelled :(

so what places did you visit in germany, just berlin?

When you were in berlin did you check out the KuDam (Kufurstendam) (SP?) and the car stores? Those were awesome, especially the KaDeWe which is next to the KuDam and has 6 floors all with different stuff like the first floor is men's clothes, the second is women's clothes, the third is shoes, can't remember the fourth and the fifth and sixth are gourmet cooking supplies/food (teas, chocolate, bakery, cheese, etc...)

Unfortunately no. I only had a couple days there. Spent the first night watching the Germany-Croatia Euro 2008 game, the next day 2 days just site seeing. That is just the curse of study abroad is you just dont have enough time to do enough.

I'm going to be a freshman at UD.
Cool. If you have any questions let me know.

Quite possibly. I know quite a few but the question then becomes how easy are you to talk up.

Could I ask what you are studying and where you are living next year? Just curious.

Marycrest, going in as Undecided engineering, I'm leaning towards mechanical or computer engineering, but I'm keeping open towards the possibility of electrical. I enjoy mechanical more, but I have far more experience in computer programming.

I enjoy long walks on the beach, and I'm trying to get a good group of pump paintballers together to play some east coast NPPL OSC events. Any word on how big paintballing is amongst the students at UD?

Your lucky, Marycrest is really nice ever since they started renovating the rooms 2 years ago. I lived in Founders freshman year. If you have any questions about either engineering degree I have two good friends that are one of each. As for paintball there is a small group of people that play. I so far have only met one other person that plays consistently and that is because he plays D2 PSP. Im bringing my gear up but I dont play that often. Really there is no great UD organization that links paintball players together.

Im living in Gardens on Stuart next year so if you ever want to play let me know.

Where else did you go in France? I spent most of my school year there, I traveled around some to a few other places but most of my time was spent touring around different parts of France.

Unfortunately all I got to see was Paris and Normandy due to only getting a weekend there in between classes. I do however want to go back and see other parts. I took the train from Germany to Paris and watching the countryside go past was just beautiful.

I really have to suggest to anyone who has the opportunity to study abroad to do so. The experience is so great.

You missed the best part of Europe, the French countryside is so beautiful. I will likely upload a few of my photos in a thread sometime soon. I have to go through and re size them all.

I agree though, if anyone gets the chance to study abroad go for it, it is definitely an experience that you will not forget. You meet great people, learn about new cultures, and get to see wonderful parts of the world.

photobucket automatically resizes your pictures when you upload them.

having lived in germany for a total of 8 years, i have to agree with you two: if you get the chance to travel, do so. the money spent is definitely worth it.
