Here's what I've got so far for my MR3:

I like how it's turned out so far, but I'm still not too thrilled about the "epoxy wad" around the top of the mag. I tried filing/sanding it down flush, but I'm not sure how much of it's load-bearing.

I'd like to hear what you think, and if you can think of a way to improve what I've got thus far, I'd love to hear it.

That thing is sick!
Do you have a qloader?
Id suggest getting one if you dont, because if you threw a halo or something on it id think it would look worse.

Also, are you thinking of putting a sight or something of the sort on the rail?

looks sweet. I am with Hossy I think it should be q-loaded

oh.. you mean..

THAT QLOADER?!?!?!

heh.. I forgot to mount the Q when I took the pic. I'm the happy owner of one. It's amazing.

Glad you like it. Any ideas to make it better?
Especially that epoxy mess around the mag? I'd like to find a way to fix it, or cover it up, but I'm stumped.. any ideas?

Thanks for the quick response!

I like it alot, I've modded my mr2 but my mr3 is plain stock, can't think of anything to do with my MR3 haha.
How do you like the single trigger like that?

Looks Awesome!

If you can get rid of the epoxy altogether, depending on the material of the mag, you could put a plate of the same metal as the mag (if it's aluminum take it to a professional welder) on the gun and weld the mag on to the plate.

okay, I got you. so weld the mag to the plate, and put the plate on the gun.

how would I fasten it to the gun after that? That's where I'm hung up.

I'm not familiar with MR3's so I don't know what's right above your mag, but, if it's not right below any internals you could screw it in or use pre-existing screw holes for the shroud or something and use those. You could also find out the material of the MR3 body and see if you can just weld the mag straight on. Another alternative is using JB Weld.

I JUST purchased a BT ak47 apex barrel with the shroud for my mr3, And now i smack myself becase the top of the shroud will stick out to much.

BackAlleyPb

does the barrel come out of the shroud or can it be moved because if it cant im in some deep ****

adamlee1186

The barrel can come out of the shroud, but if you just want to push everything up on the barrel, that'll be a problem, because it(the barrel) is machined with grooves for some of the shroud parts.

well i JUST got it in the mail like 1 hour ago and the first hump sticks out so it will no fit down the shroud the whole ak-47 piece is retarded and the barrel is inaccurate as hell. So im trying to sand it down.

Hey, I've got a question. Does anyone know of a good rail for the MR3 to mount a red dot on? I'm still trying to keep halfway in-line with the AK scheme, and so it's been hard to find a rail.

any ideas?

Like this? (http://www.actionvillage.com/INtERShOp.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=cs5Kro4CW8FI98ZY1jWKBoSk147_cmO5hPM=?Pro ductID=2JfAqArbk3QAAAEQB4n9xOYO)

oh wow. Have you used this rail before? it looks like it'd be perfect, but is there anywhere I can go to see how it sits on the gun, or how much(if at all) it raises the rail?

irishwarrior

go here (tacamopaintball.com) and then go to gun builder. After that go to the A-5 and select sight rails.

hey Irish, thanks for all the help and input. I really appreciate it.

after some looking(I'm kind of an air-head), I found the tacamo marker builder tool(really awesome, by the way). I found the part, and it seems to be perfect...

for the A-5. What're the odds that that'll fit my MR3? especially since I hacked off a decent portion of the MR3 "tactical shroud"?

Sorry to keep hounding you, and thanks for all the help.

It's no problem, I like helpin people out. Since it uses a picatinny style mount it should fit provided you have room. I would ask actionvillage for the specs.

hey adam if you get it let me know, im looking into the x7 hand raili will fit but needs a lil modding....theres a lil tiny box that pops out of the back inside track and im not sure how to remove it, its plastic so im thinking of taking an excto knife to it and sawing it off, anyone have a better idea?

the wad... are those pieces you epoxyed, are the both plastic or metal? if metal you could take off some epoxy and bondo over it then sanded it to were looked like one piece, Prime it and paint it

DFSniper

the part attached to the gun is plastic and the mag is metal. bondo should work though, right now i'm using bondo body filler for my car bumper, and its holding fine. dremel the excess bumps off (i don't really recommend a grinding disk for something like this though) and if its uneven, throw a layer of filler or two, then paint over it.

i use bondo all the time at work. i mentioned it because it will last a long time

i wish i could remember who caked their body in bondo a few years ago... i want to say it was ares or leed... but anyway, they covered their body in bondo and then shaped it. the design came out pretty nice.

you know if you want to make the Mr3 body flow a little better with that AK shroud you could buy some cheap sight risers and line them up along the weaver rail on top to make the body of the gun seem flush with the shroud.

not to be a **** but I cant stand guns without a trigger guard.

but I do like the stock and shroud

adamlee1186

I really like the idea of the sight-riser. Irish mentioned something to that effect a while back, but the site never got back to me as to whether it'd fit. Could anyone point me in the right direction for something like this?

you should probably put a trigger guard i dont think they will let you pleh with out it

bigred76
09-15-2008, 02:45 PM
No, they most certainly will not... American insurance companies require it, and unless you're a dip**** playing on some random outlaw field, you need one.

adamlee1186
09-16-2008, 01:59 PM
heh..

well thanks for the sentiment, bigred, but this dip**** has it covered. I took a piece of stock-aluminum from work, cut and ground it to a decent curve, and then used JB weld to secure it.

thanks for the constructive criticism, though. I appreciate it.

Wow I am not a fan of AK 47's but that looks REAL good, the Q-loader is a sweet deal also. I am thinking about the Q-loader off and on, not sure yet, I know it is a lot of money to dish out

Have you tried it out yet? I am thinking about getting the AK barrel but want to know if its any good. How much work did you do to make the shroud flow with the MR3 body. can you post a close up shot of where the shroud meets the original gun? Has any one else used this barrel and shroud and how did you make out?

I like that, the trigger is really cool
