Sometimes where the striker and the plate come together wears down and it doesn't grab anymore. It's possible you'll have to replace your striker.

Old Spyders and clones sometimes have wire mesh plug jammed into the hole in the VA. If yours has this, the mesh bundle is likely clogged with CO2 dirt.
Take a 1mm drill bit and drill a hole into the center of the wire mesh and then use an easy-out to remove it completely from the VA.
If you feel compelled to replace it, just use any wire screen filter used for Ions or any other Spyder marker.

Make sure the valve spring isn't binding or too large where it is preventing the valve from opening all the way. Also make sure the cup seal is tight on the pin.
