Hey guys, as some of you know i made a thread earlier about what gun to get for speedball, and as it turns out a lot of you gave useful opions big thumbs up for you guys:up::up::up::up:. But here's my problem : I need a whole setup for $400 or under, because i forgot to to mention i have only been using C02 and your usual shake and shoot hopper. all suggestions will be taken into consideration.

Thanks in advance

Used Ion = $140 with good upgrades
Used 68/4500 with a year or more left in hydro = $100
Like new Halo = $60
Total = $300.

You can save the other $100 for paint. I recommend the Ion because it is a capable marker out of the box, can be upgraded one part at a time as you get extra money, and buying used allows you to get a better marker for the money. You can also find better deals on both the tank and the hopper if you spend some time searching through the B/S/T threads of various forums.

Or...You could get a decent used NXe or CP pack and maybe a new or used Profiler with the extra $100. :)

Zephyrpaintball epiphany kit for $374.98 comes with a 48-3000 aluminum tank and halo b with rip drive. The tank could be better but the marker and hopper are pretty good for speedball.

i'd change the ion to a used 2k2 timmy for about $200. i've seen them as low as $170.

 Timmy's seem to be much easier to tech according to the forums, I wouldn't know yet.. maybe I need to go gun shopping again. :p

Yeah maybe if you can find a used Timmy, Proto also makes some pretty nice lower end speedball guns

yea older DM/PM series markers like the m4'5 and m5's are really nice and pretty cheap.

Get a PM6 over a PM5... $215 or so there, used tank like a 68/45 Crossy's $100 with a good hydro, used Reloader B for $65 should do you fine, and if the gun doesn't come with a barrel, look for a cheap Proto 2 Piece. Same honing as a UL with a cheaper price tag. Hit up California Paintball Supply in either Antioch or Fremont (the one I go to) if you have any detailed questions you need to know. My favorite store, and Aaron and Holly are two very knowledgeable people!

Get a used timmy. Any problem with a timmy is such an easy fix.
I've seen vlo/jr's go for 50-60, or halos for the same..whichever you prefer
68/4500 or a 68/3000 are both good. I liked them both the same.

Should run you under 400. Just depends on how much you spend on the gun.

Just so you know, my near stock timmy (it has a on/off ASA.. or did.. heheh) got about 700-800 usable shots off a 48/3k.

Well I've liked my 68/30 because i got cheap and it holds enough shots for any game. Not to mention its lighter than a 47/30 or any aluminum tank.

My 68/30 is out for hydro. The 48 is my back up. :p

Either set up isn't that heavy either, even with the Aluminum tank, it's still way lighter than my halfbacked Electra, and I shaved almost half the upper tube off that thing.

I think a PM6 would be a little more user friendly for a newer player than an Alias... All that can go wrong in them is to do with the orings. With Timmy's... they're a lot more technical.

As for the tank size... I used to get 700-800 shots out of a 48/3k on my ol' Spyder... Shot count doesn't really matter anymore, as I grew up and just got a 68/45 so I don't have to think about it. By the time I run out of air, I'm already at home and have been messing with guns for hours.

Pretty sad that this is the Kingman site... and we didn't suggest any of their products...:jawdrop:

New Electra anyone?
