Newbie asks: When to Field Strip?

Hi I know it may sound dumb, but I'm a first-time marker owner and I have read alot about how it's important for you to be able to strip your gun in the field. I can't really understand why that is because I'm a newb and clearly I've never done it.

So why would you need to? (ie. what situations call for you to take it apart?) And next, is there a tutorial somewhere on how to strip my MR1? :) My fear is taking it apart and not being able to put it back together.

If you chop, then its good to clean it. But you dont realy need to reoil it until the end of the day

Like Pumper said, when you chop a ball you should strip it down so you can get it all clean. Also, you should strip it down if there's something wrong with the gun (excessive chopping, balls rolling out of the barrel, stuff like that).

As for oiling it... I would make sure that what needs to be oiled is BEFORE you go out to play (it will save you some time in the setup).
