Well, the search was over for a couple weeks now and my new marker has arrived! (Well, it arrived last week, but I hadn't gotten a chance to get some crappy pictures)

Dust black Dye DM7

I know it isn't anything special, but it is what I have been wanting to pick up for awhile to go with my collection and I am excited to have it! :)

As of right now, it is bone stock. I have a dust black CP continuous flow plug, dust black Kila detents, and blue laser eyes on the way. Other than that, I really don't think there is anything to upgrade on this beast. I would like to make it completely dust black, but the "clear" accents are kinda nice right now.

Only thing to upgrade on a DM, is the CP flow plug.

Nice pickup.

Thanks guys! I am almost tempted to change not only the flow plug to clear, but also the eye covers too... I've never been so picky about what to make a marker look like before! :)

It's either get clear accents (Reg, barrel, frame, the works) or Murder it out.

LOL I have always liked the ninja look, so I am eventually gonna do that. I wish I could just buy a black accent kit and cover everything!

$100 New? Not my cup of tea.

Search the BST on PBN, they're really cheap.

Yeah, that is the problem with it! :)

I am looking on there now... I can't remember if they even made a black kit or not....

It would probably be cheaper just to get the parts anodized, its only 5-6 small parts in dust black. Dye kits cost over $100 new and i rarely see them for sale, anno would be way under that.

Nice pick up.

Let me know how long that dye ASA lasts, 3 weeks has be my longest lol.

That's what I was thinking Dave. I sent a price quote request to one anno shop to see what it would cost. It kinda depends if they have minimums or not.

I did find a black set... but it is $130.00 What a rip off! :(

I don't know if anyone is really interested in my marker and what I'm doing to it... but here is where I am at....

I am still waiting on the CP flow plug and the Kila Detents (w/ eye covers). I was able to trade a buddy of mine for his feedneck lever and feedneck base. I am still trying to get the bolt guide, lpr cap, and on/off knob in black... I am guessing it will end up going to anno for it.

So far the visual changes are;
-dust black stock UL frame trigger
-Macrolineguy.com black macro fittings
-Macrolineguy.com black out screw kit

That's where I am at... hope you all like it as much as I do so far! :)

Ninja!

I'd go for a dust CP On/Off while you're at it. Would solve that silver on the nob and is a much easier, better working ASA.

Thanks guys! Just curious, but why don't you guys like the Dye ASA's? I have had my Proto ones and I love them... Just kinda curious... :)

Failure.....I have never seen a dye airport make it more then two months without breaking, its not just a simple oring fix either.

Time for another update....

I was able to pick up a blue color kit for my DM. Yes, I know, I am making it all black. I got the kit BNIB for $25. Soooo, I am going to have the blue anno'd black and I will keep the clear accents in case I want to change it up later (since I like the black / clear look better than the black / blue).

I had looked for a red kit but I couldn't find one for the same deal. I wanted to make it look like a Trauma DM with the red kit... oh well... :)

Parts will be going out for anno tomorrow... I can't wait!

LOL It is still cheaper than getting a black kit from Dye! :)

Now I am looking at different grips... More than likely gonna get some from SPD. I don't know what to get though. I was thinking either smoke or black... as long as the black isn't glossy....

Oh the choices!!!

Don't order from SPD...

Order from Dark Seoul. He is the originator of the grips, worked for SPD and made all the grips for them. They then stole his designs and started making the grips on their own. I was going to order grips for my Scorpion frame from them and they gave me the wrong template TWICE. I then went to Dark Seoul, complaining, and asking him if he still made grips through them. He replied with his disgust for SPD at the moment, and said he would do the grips for me. He does custom grips as well as the basic ones and charges LESS then SPD. He also includes screws for cheaper then SPD will.

John (Dark Seoul) is much better at customer service as well.

Here is the link to his thread: http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2527420

He needs to re-gold up it... PMing him will probably be more efficient.

Thanks Ace! I actually was going to get some through him, but it's almost been a week since I PM'd him and I haven't heard back. Thanks for the info.... I will wait to hear from John!

Any suggestions on which ones to get? :)

I personally like the smoke or black ones. If you're going ninja, black would look sick.

E-mail him then. john.lee16@comcast.net is his e-mail address. His computer has been down and he's been working on the backlog of orders he has. He's a reputable guy, just he's been overworked.

I last got an e-mail from him a few days ago, so e-mail might be the best way to go.

I was thinking either smoke or black, but I wonder how glossy the black looks. I will send him an e-mail, maybe he has some examples.

Thanks again Ace!!!

Looks about the same gloss as a gloss black anno would be. I've seen them in person on a gloss black ION Element V2 frame. Matched perfectly.

You've got gloss black macro fittings, so it'd probably look great with them.

You could do a dust black/gloss black theme on the gun. Gloss UL back, dust tip, gloss back cap/lpr, gloss trigger, gloss eye covers, gloss band on feedneck.

Otherwise, it'd probably look just fine with the gloss black grips and the rest dust.

If I'm not mistaken, Timm has black ones on his Borg. He's got some sweet shots that could show you the contrast. It's pretty much the same as the gloss black anno.

I thought that picture sucked, lol.... I'll have better ones up in a few days' time, but I'd sugest the gloss black ones instead of smoke. I got smoke due to wanting to see the LED inside and not knowing if the black ones would show me it.

Only thing that bothers me is the gloss... I want to get rid of the gloss fittings, but I don't think anyone does dust fittings... unless I have missed them....
