I have both itunes and audacity - how do you make ringtones using these programs? This is something I've never done before but would like to give it a try.

Thanks!

vike, you have to export it as a .midi file

Export it to where? Do I cut a certain size from the song, then rename it as a .midi then send it to my phone (via cable)?

pretty much. audacity doesnt seem to have .midi as an option, so you may have to cut the part(s) of the song you want, save it as .wav or .mp3 and get a file converter to convert it to .midi, then send it to your phone. my phone is so cheap it doesnt allow me to import files :(

Audacity is very easy to use. And, I believe it is free.

Here's (http://lifehacker.com/software/ringtones/geek-to-live--make-a-ringtone-from-any-mp3-212232.php) an easy how-to on making ringtones using Audacity.

Thanks Critical, that's exactly what I was looking for. Oh, and yes - audacity is free - I just downloaded it this morning!

Hops - you're absolutely correct! I was complaining about being bored and I apologize. I'll try to keep my previous complaints in mind and try not to complain so much in the future. (I think I'm full stride into my mid-life crisis...) I think it was more of an "I'm too lazy and I want to be told step by step so I don't have to look it up" moment...
