i was wondering how many shots i will get with a 48cu/3000psi hpa tank.I recently purchased one over the internet and it seems to be running out of air way to fast i cant barely get through 500 paintballs without running out and sometimes not even that.
If i just bought a crappy tank what should i expect from differing sizes and psi for shots i can get out of it my spyder pilot acs is all stock. thx for any help i would really appreciate it.

The bigger the tank (CI), the more shots you will get. The more pressure the tank can hold, the more shots you will get from a full fill. The normal amount of shots from a 68ci/4500psi tank is about 1500 shots.

kool thx so what is a decent price for a tank like that im kinda strapped fro money. or is their any other cheaper ways to maximize the tank i have now like regulators or i heard a low pressure system but idk what that is unless they mean regulator.

Those are fairly decent prices, actually. :) If you catch him quick, he'll ship it out with the stuff that I'm buying from him soon here, or else you'll have to wait until he has time to go to the Post Office again... The $100 tank is what you want. It's hydro is good until 2010, whereas the other one (the $75 tank) runs out this coming December and then will cost $15-50 to have rehydro tested.

If you decide to not buy from that seller, then PBN is your best bet in their B/S/T Air section. Make sure that the seller takes pictures of the DOT-E code and Hydro Test date on the tank, and come to one of us over here to check the DOT Exemption code for it's hydro test schedule. You want a Crossfire, Draxxus, CP, Guerilla Air, or Nitro Duck screw in tank. All of those brands are good, and most have 5yr hydro schedules on their tanks (that's a good thing...).

You COULD go LP to maximize your current tank, but that'd run you $100 or so in parts (V/A, LPC, regulator, striker, bolt, new board to run lower dwell, spring kit), and you might as well buy the bigger tank. At the height of my Spyder, I was getting about 750-850 shots from a 48/3k. To this day, I have no clue how I managed that!

Two old pumps, eh? Post up pictures, I'm a collector of old guns.... ;)

That isn't that bad! Personally, I like 'Cockers over Spyders, so be sure to try out the 'Cocker before you give it to your brother! :) Thank your aunt's friend very graciously, it's rare you come across friends like that!
