dude, that thing is an aggbox! (thats a good thing)

needs a new motor though. 6 cylinders is not enough for a dart.

02-26-2006, 04:39 PM
Nice, needs lots of work but has potential.

02-26-2006, 04:55 PM
lots of potential but going to take some big bucks if you want it top-notch. Looks pretty sweet now though

02-26-2006, 05:46 PM
pretty nice, the upholstery is in really good condition for how old it is. like they said, it needs some work but its still nice.

well im going to keep the slant six because its going to be my everyday driver and i dont want to use to much gas. As for now im keeping the interior because its in such great condition untill i deside to make it black. then im going to change the suspetion all the way around. The front really needs it so i figured that i would do the back while im at it. Then after that ill clean up the engine replace all the rubber. Next im going to fix the body and give it a fresh paint job which i haven't desided the color yet(give me some ideas). Then after that im going get a set of rims and new tires and ill be good to go. Theres really not rust except the passanger side rear quater pannel behind the wheel just a little section that has to be replaced. Other then that the only real problem with the body is the dents. The engine runs great. When my dad drove it home He said that it felt better then his car(except for the front suspention).

Thanks for looking :)

It better run great... its got fewer miles on it than my 1999 Dodge. There's nothing wrong with a slant 6. A few well-placed upgrades and some TLC and you can get some decent performance and a lot more miles out of her.

As for the color suggestion, I would go with a new white vinyl top and a nice medium blue for the body. You'd have to redo the interior to match though... same white for most of it, with matching blue accent panels and inlay.

Oooh, I see you got it in today! As for the engine, keep the sixes in there until you can afford to buy a new one, and afford to buy some more gas, as a Six is, in theory, going to be more efficient than an Eight.

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask last I spoke with you, how much did you pick it up for? And how is your Dad letting you get both these cars, you must have gotten an insane deal.

TigerDave - I plan on removeing the vynal top i like the look of it better with out it. I was thinking of blue though.
As of other colors i was thinking of were a like a deep metallic red or like a hemi orange.

Leed- I got it for 1200, This car is all mine. The 1955 chevy is half my sisters, so if i ever sell it she gets half.

02-27-2006, 06:06 PM
that's nice :)

02-27-2006, 07:14 PM
sold a 1974 that was my G/F grandpas car, got 400 for it, was black interior and pretty decent shape, the usual rust over the rear wheels, tho. couldnt have it sitting next to my mustangs, peeps would think im going dodge LOL. Pretty neat cars though :D

I got a new car too! its not as fast as my vette, but it gets me places

03-03-2006, 07:16 PM

03-03-2006, 11:21 PM

Ok guys i need your help.
Ive been thinking and i really want to paint this car orange but i dont want to have to pull the engine and strip everything to make everything orange to match. So i was thinking about mabey re painting it the original color and get a new tan vynal top. but then it looks like an old ladys car to me and i dont want it to look like an old ladys car. Now i know its not possible to paint the door jams and engine compartment and trunk with out takeing everything out but what i was wondering if you guys think that the orange wont be that bad in not matching the original paint. Or can you guys give me another opinion on color to make it looke more agressive but not be to bad in not matching the door jambs and every thing.

Well, here's what I'd say, Go with a Black Canvas Top, It would look best with the Orange Body, I don't know how well the Orange would go with the Orange, I'd get a sample of it first, and see how it would look.

03-08-2006, 01:13 PM
dark orange w/ a black canvas top

03-08-2006, 01:50 PM
What do you guys think about this:

The only difference would probably be the ride height(mine might be a little lower im not sure yet have to see after i get new suspention and wheels and tires) and the stripes would go all the way down to the front of the car w/o the lines out lineing them. Also it wouldent have the decal wraping around the back instead it would have strips to match the hood(no stripes on the roof). Also i wouldent have the hood pins or hood scoops(would love to have them but i dont think i want to cut holes in my hood). Then also the engine compartment and the door jams and stuff would be different color because im not painting them but its not going to be a show car so it really wont matter that much. And of course mine would only have a 225 slant six instead of a 318 v8.

03-08-2006, 02:10 PM
That would look pretty sick. I think it would look even better if you could get a different hood, maybe some scoops not as large as the ones you posted.

Nice dart, I have a 1970 Dart Swinger myself, I posted a couple pics of it around here. The vinyl is in GREAT condition

The paint job you posted would look awesome, it DOES look awesome, for sure. Other combo's could be...deep metal flake red with black vinyl top and black interior or black metal flake with a white leather interior. I'm probably gonna do black for mine.

03-08-2006, 07:50 PM
I was thinking red or black but then i was like ehh blacks nice but if theres a minor body mistake it will show. Then i wasent a big fan of the red idea. Then TigerDave suggested blue with white vynal top and white interior with blue accents, this would look awsome but i want it to look more aggressive at this moment in time then more classic so i think im going to stick with the orange with black raceing stripes !

03-11-2006, 09:49 PM
washed it up today and as i was washign it i seen a layer of gray come off of it from years of dirt.

Also i desided to go the easier way and just paint it white or tan and get a new tan vinyl top.

Woohoo DUBBER!!!!! Looks like a MkIV Jetta? What engine's in it? I've got a 2.0L in my 2001 Jetta but am thinking about doing a swap to a VR6 once I get the cash... Shouldn't be more than about $2-3k... Was going to get a 1.8T right off the bat, but insurance would go way up just because it has a turbocharger... But yeah... Nice car

EDIT: Missed the chrome trim before... MkIV Passat it is!!! Heh... What engine do you have in it?

03-13-2006, 07:16 AM
So I take it the Jetta is getting fixed? lol

Nice thing about the leaning tower of power is that you can chop 0.90" off the head without any worries. Add a set of longer ratio rocker arms, plus an early 80's stock aluminium 2 barrel intake plus carb and you'll have a better working 6 with great milage at a cheap price.

I found an old pic of my 71 Demon. I need a new scanner so I took a pic with my digital camera so please excuse the horrible picture.
I wrote it off in 91 and still miss it.

Hey i was wondering if anyone would be able to photo shop the car to these differnt colors.
1. Orange on bottom and champange on the top
2. Orange on bottom and White on top
3. Orange on bottom with silver on top.
4. And White on bottom with Orange on top

Thanks a bunch if a bigger picture is needed you can IM me at xsgmike66x on AIM

Nice man. I've got a '78 Mustang II i'm working on. It runs decent but needs some work before it's road worthy. That thing is nice though!
