I need improvement on my photography and I have some free times on my hands so I figured that I would try to get better at it. I took the pictures in a photo box that took me 2 minutes to make. I probably need a new lense and need to play around with the settings but tell me what you think and what I can do to improve it.

find better angles.
try to be more abstract if that helps clarify.

get rid of the swab in the first pic...

and the lighting seems a little unnatural.

but use your imagination and do different ways like this http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa18/muddytaco2/DSC05372-1.jpg

those are obviously Tacos pics. Taco, if you dont like them up, edit this or tell me to do so and I will.

Taco uses a white foam project board for his pictures and manual settings on his camera. Take the pictures outside on a cloudy day to reduce the shadow, too.

I made a new photobox using pbn's cheap man photo box. Heres what I came up with. I am currently playing around with different settings on my camera because it's fairly new.

Here are the new pictures.

what kind of camera do you have?

I like #2 the best out of all the pics youve taken.
that would be a good way to show it off if you were going to sell it.

Already looks 10x better with the white background.

Now, since it looks like you're working inside, get some lights and try to eliminate shadows. Set your white balance based on your lighting (if you can). Play around with angles some more.
