I wasn't going to release my halfbacked and milled vs2 body until pbn sotm next month but I'm stuck. I don't know how I should get it anodized. I was thinking about getting it done wit ha blood splatter design except I would have the bdybe gloss black and the splatter be silver. Any reccomendations would be appreciated.

Black dust to black polish fade, or brown with black accents (like a tarantula), then laser engrave the spyder logo on top in front of the feedneck.

lol, it was a vs2 body. The dremel engraver is hard to use, it likes to roll off like crazy and mess up everything.

EDIT
I think I have the lightest spyder now. I did the halback, cut down the frame, drilled everywehre that it's not noticable and doesn't effect performance to lighten it, and milled the body.

I'll get a pic of the frame in a minute. I drilled inside where the grips cover. I also drilled on the top of the frame where it connects to the body, Just make sure you don't drill too much.

EDIT

Heres the frame

It was powdercoated because spyder frames can't hold an anno.

dang, good thing i didnt wast my money, but has anyone ever tried a vs trigger frame, anyways, i was gonna do that but i was just gonna do the front

Just going to do the front? I don't reccomend doing that to the frame, it is actually very hard to do. Doc tried to anno his frame but it wouldn't take it.

well, i have my frame the way i want it, all i need is to anno the halfbacked body and itll b done, just outta curiosity though, without any anoing on the aluminum, will it rust, some one told me it will but i dint think it would but it kinda has me wondering now

XSiv Force

ive never heard of aluminum rusting....it may corrode but not to the scale as rust will aluminum oxide is actually a lot harder than aluminum is

spray and pray
05-04-2008, 05:29 PM
The body will not rust because it's made of aluminum. If you took steel wool to it and used lots of steel wool then it will rust because the wool is steal and the steel fibers will get into the pores of the aluminum changing some properties allowing it to rust. That is why I don't reccomend steel wool on aluminum. If you didn't use steel wool on it than you are ok, it won't rust but it will oxidize and even possibly corrode.

I sent it in for a gloss black to polished silver fade. The quote I got from gruntbull for what I originally wanted was $172. I wanted black to chrome fade (a chromish color is hard to get he said) with black splatter on the silver fade and silver splatter on the black fade. The $172 was just for annodizing. I also wanted to get a pic of bruce lee engraved into it. have of it silver and half of it black.

That might have been to many things on one body though. I ended up going with mkriegs on pbn (he has annod 5 other things for me). I payed $30 shipped back to me for a black to silver fade without anything else on it. I might get bruce lee engraved into it though, it's just so hard to resist.

oh so thats not too bad, but looks like I have to decide whether or not I want to go with a fade because his place wont engrave one a fade, maybe I can find someone else also.

BTW - PM me where you can get a t board for 10 :)

Hey, did you mill ur body, cut it with a dremel and sand it smooth?

spray and pray
05-07-2008, 10:55 AM
Yeah I did it with a dremel. I used a hacksaw for a small amount. I started down at 60 grit working my way up to 2000.
