View Full Version : NEW Gun Issues

Hey, Just bought my Xtra went to play could not adjust the fps below 305. I cut about 1/2" off my spring, adjusted fine.

Issue 1: The fps screw seems loose and I have to adjust the fps up (in) twice in one day. How do I keep my fps constant and the screw from loosening?

Issue 2: My gun was starting to shoot 2 balls every few times I pull the trigger. How do I fix the 2 ball problem?

the stock detents arent the greatest, timmy detents are only about $10 and theyre really good but im sure if you give kingman a call they will send you some

This is a new Xtra? Make sure that the detents are snugged down good by the screw on the side. Sometimes they can wiggle loose if they're not always screwed all the way down.

If that doesn't fix it, then my bet is that it's doing the typical Spyder "chattering" and is just not catching the sear properly. You could probably fix that on a mechanical Spyder with a spring kit, which I'd suggest anyways as you had to cut the stock spring. Messing with the spring tensions should yield better results all around, and spring kits are extremely cheap.

What type of hopper?

THanks for the INFO on detents, I checked my detent, and wiped it clean. I think the the spring I cut and can;t keep the fps constant might be the issue. Are spring kits ALL the same

My hopper is the STOCK one

Spring kits are all about the same. The standard for them is that they come with light, medium, and heavy springs for both the valve and main spring, but a few come with lighter trigger springs as well.

I just bought the 32 degrees 9 spring kit. Dumb question #1. Which color is the stock one Black, Gold, Silver? DQ #2 what the difference in gun function between changing the (Valve "long??" spring), and the (Main "short?? spring)?

When it double fires does it cycle twice or just shoot 2 balls in one cycle?

Sorry, musta missed your post.

#1 The kit shoulda came with a chart as to which spring is which. The stocker is (obviously) silver.

#2 The short ones are for the valve. Long ones are for the main.
