FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Luxe to debut at Huntington Beach tournament.

New design and distribution philosophy to bring forth technological advancements in professional level paintball marker.

March 29, 2008 – DLX Technology is proud to announce the tournament debut of the Luxe professional tournament paintball marker at the 2008 NPPL Super-7 World Series tournament in Huntington Beach, California, March 28-30, 2008. Some of the best professional paintball players in the world will gain an edge with the ultimate luxury paintball marker.

“We knew making a product that would take things to the next level required a whole new approach,” said DLX Technology director Darryl Trent. “This allows us to redefine everything involved with the marker from concept and design to how it is built, how it arrives in the customer's hands, and even how the player is taken care of afterwards. We began this journey over two years ago, and I am excited to see the results in action.”

Under the leadership of the DLX Technology group, the combined efforts of designers, pneumatic, mechanical, manufacturing and software engineers, multimedia developers, linguistic specialists, professional paintball players and leading paintball field and store operators have culminated in the development of the ultimate luxury paintball marker – a synchronization of style, raw performance and unparalleled customer support.

Design of the Luxe started with a clean slate by championship winning pro players from the NXL and NPPL defining their needs – especially those that were not met by today's markers. Speed, consistency, accuracy, gentle handling of brittle paint and a compact form factor were given, but the missing elements were not so obvious – speed of maintenance and ease of configuration. In today's paintball tournaments every second in the staging area between points or best 2 out of 3 matches is critical, and that is where current paintball technology has fallen short - until now.

The valve and air handling systems of the Luxe eliminate common failure points and provide for full cleaning and lubrication of the bolt, valve, ball detents and anti-chop components in seconds, without tools. “It really is unbelievable,” said Rocky Knuth, a professional player and owner of the Seattle Naughty Dogs, who has had the opportunity to rigorously test Luxe prototypes for several months. “I can have the entire bolt and valve assembly out of the Luxe as fast as I can pop open a can of soda.”

Luxe innovations go well beyond the physical. The Luxe has been endowed with new means of communication. Although it has all of the programming flexibility serious tournament paintball players have come to expect – it has done away with the complexity. Memorization of beep and blink codes or carrying a manual to decipher them is unnecessary.

Features are not the only aspect to set the Luxe apart. From the ground up, its high-performance alloy parts are machined in the United States, by American workers using the most advanced manufacturing processes available – a rarity in today's paintball industry. The Luxe does not roll off of an assembly line. Instead each is hand built, tested and adjusted one at a time at DLX Technology by a Certified Luxe Technician, who is also an experienced professional paintball player with the background to know by feel when a marker is in top form.

Much like a luxury car, the Luxe is not a mail-order product. Luxe markers will be available only through Luxe Certified Dealers who have the staff and training to provide a top-quality customer experience and post-sale technical support.

Developed as a focused high-end design and manufacturing group owned by paintball industry leader Smart Parts, Inc., DLX Technology is dedicated to melding cutting edge technology with solid tournament performance to build the ultimate luxury paintball marker. The new SP High-end.... It's much like Kingman owning Spyder with this one, DLX is owned by SP. (for those that refuse to read and just look at pix... you know who you are... ;)).

You will not be able to buy this marker from a Smart Parts sales rep. It is ONLY available from DLX Technology. Dealers are able to buy the Proto brand from Dye as well. We are doing something comepletely different with this. The main point being in the way the end customer is handled. The customer will buy the gun from a DLX Authorized dealer only, and that dealer will handle warranty and technical issues. That way, the customer can always know that they do not have to send the gun in if it ever needs to be worked on. Every DLX Authorized dealer will be factory trained and certified.

That silver piece on the back, you lift it up. It degasses the gun, and you pull. And the entire bolt system slides out. Pretty ingenious.

Oh, I forgot, it also might talk in 5 different languages. Literally. That's what some said about it, but I have no proof of it to confirm that. I don't know about you guys, but if my gun started talking to me, I'd blow the ***** up and go see a shrink!

The bolt out back is so easy. Apparently you lift the chrome portion and it degases itself and you can take the bolt right out.

Yeah, it's a high priced gat, but then again... how much is a SL8R?

Don't care how much "marker X' costs. I think more in terms of, "....will it make meh a better player?". :o I think in terms of, "....Imagine how many decent markers, equipment in general, paint, playtime I could get for that much?" You'll never see me with a $1000 marker because I know I don't need one to have a good time and I'm not on the field to impress others by what I'm using as some others seem to be. The most you'll be seeing me spend cash on is top quality paint. That's always @t the top of the "Things To Do" list. What's even more hideous is someone buying that type of marker and shooting white box through it because they can't afford good paint lol - ;)

Troof, but this marker, like the SL8R, was designed for pro's. I don't need a marker anywhere near that calibre, my Cyborg's way more than enough. Hell, I own people with a damned Traccer. I wouldn't own this one, just like I wouldn't own a SL8R, simply because I don't need it.

The technology's astounding to me, personally. It's a wonderful combination of a DM's on/off function and the Ion's reliable design in my mind. I'd need to see the bolt for proof of that statement of the Ion design, but I feel safe enough saying it as the design is stable enough to support something like this.

Claus, that was editted in far before your post. ;)

It seems as though Smart Parts really did a good job in the PR department this time. It looks like they've swooped in and completely reversed the stats where normally 98% of the people bash it and 2% support it.

is that a speaker!?
or maybe a turbine to power the gun?
where is the battery?

vikingshadow
03-30-2008, 12:09 PM
From what I've read, the battery is similar to a rechargeable cell phone battery, with about 50000 shots per charge. If it goes dead and you're in a hurry, you can remove the two screws on the speaker (yes, that is a speaker in the ^^^ picture) and the battery is behind it.

I wonder where the hose is to get air into the gun???

the reg is most likely designed like the CP reg, althought i would imagine it being a PITA to disconnect the macro without the right tools (by "right tools" meaning anything small enough to jam in there )

There is no macro, the air goes through the grip similar to the Mini. Good thing Sp finally put that patent to a use other than screwing better companies. I am not a fan of this at all. if that is the future of paintball I do not intend to buy any new guns ever.

How so? Integrated air lines, voice capability, BOB so easy a toddler can do it and put the bolt back in fully cleaned and relubed in a minute flat, battery that lasts nearly forever (finally no more goddamn 9v's!), light, small, air efficient, and reliable... All sounds good to me!

Right, they make up that money they lost with the SL74's they sell. Only takes one sale of one SL74 to make up the loss on the sales of 10 PMR's.

Not like they already had bought the PMR's, they drop ship a lot of things. By not already stocking the markers, they didn't lose any money. They bought them at the readjusted price.

The price dealers get charged never dropped. It's just proto didn't care and wouldn't revoke dealers licenses for advertising under MAP. Actionvillage still made like 10 bucks on each PMR they sold.

I'd sell it, and I don't even have a working marker at the moment. Like someone said earlier, you know how much other **** you can buy with $1500?

Spend $500 of it on paintball and use the rest on something else.
