Hi I am getting my MR2 in a week. I just want to know what hopper I should buy. And can I use cheap paintball ( Paintballs that has gone out of date, I get them really cheap..)

I am thinking about buying Viewloader Vlocity in test the hopper can load up to 25-28bps. Is this to fast for the MR2? Or just the speed it needs and can I use cheap paintballs? If not the MR2 will be really expensive to run and that's no fun for a poor guy like me. And do I have to upgrade the barrel to MR2? They say so at pbreview.

I need an answer on the cheap balls.. They don't have that hopper at my store they have very few hoppers here ( Norway ). So I have to go with the Vlocity..I will test how the stock barrel works and I allready got a 3000psi/47 air tank so I will try that the MR2 works best on high pressure?

Yes the MR2 will work best on high pressure.. realy if not wanting to spend a whole lot of money (you broke) i would suggest getting a new switch seeing as the board says 25 BPS. 5-10 bucks for a new switch so your not spending big moneys, also break in the ACS bolt, last thing about this marker buy some Intimidator Detents becasue the stock one sux bad.

Nothing is too fast.
But eVLution 2 (eggy) is just fine, uppg. whit Z-board.

See my post on the Full Auto BPS.

http://www.spyder.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=1101&page=3

The marketing of the MR2 reads "UP TO 25 BPS", but that is on single fire only. Full Auto is limited to 13 balls per second. If you can walk the trigger fast enough to shoot 25 BPS, then the gun is supposed to be able to handle it. I'm disappointed that Full Auto is limited to nearly half of what the gun is able to do.

Kingman should have at least made the board programmable to adjust the rate of fire. Oh well. I've bought the MR2, so I'll stick with it. Hopefully I can figure out why it double-feeds so badly.

to answer your paint question....

The VLocity is a forcefeed hopper. If you are using really old paint the shells will be brittle and could break in the hopper.

I have an old hopper here (ViewLoader 2000) I guess the MR2 doesn't work properly with hoppers that loads slower than 13bps.. (I think mine loads 8-12 or something it's an old hopper from 2000). Can anybody recommend a hopper to me?

NO on the cheap paint!!!!

The MR2 is R E A L L Y picky about what it wants to shoot....cheap paint will just cause you to have a day of barrel and breech breaks, and eight hours of cleaning your marker every 10 minutes at the field (I personally use XBall Bronze, nice and fresh). NO JUNK PAINT!

The stock barrel is fine...no issues. JJ is better, but the stock one is fine.

Detents are junk, replace those before you go out to shoot if possible

Dont spend alot of money on an expensive hopper, something like a Revy, or an EvoII (Egg) will work just as well (you not going to max out the Revy at thirteen BPS with this marker....you'll NEVER hit the 25bps that it say's its capable of)

Well do the MR2 break the paint easy? Do you get much ballbreak? In the usa the paint is CHEAP here it is really expensive so I want to use cheap paintballs.. The paintballs I get so cheap is because the store is not allowed to sell the paintballs because they have either gone out of date..

Do you easy get ballbreak? People are talking about breaking the acs or something.. So what your saying that MR2 needs really hard balls and if it don't get really good qualty balls, then you will not get a paintballmarker but a shotgun(ballbreak)

My MR2 chops paint, but that is due to it double feeding. I haven't determined whether it is the flimsy ball detent causing it or the acs bolt moving too far back, thereby allowing room for another ball to enter the breach. So I can't tell you if cheap paint will work or not, being that no matter what I've used so far, I double feed and break paint.

No you can't use cheap balls, I just bought a MR-2 and used cheap balls and it blew them up on the first 10 balls. your better off buying good quality.

Well I use cheap paint it works ok no chopping but 2/10 ballbreaks.

^^ ... not good for your gun .. and not good for your accuracy... it'll corkscrew and such if you don't clean it out with a squeegy every 2 seconds ...

Yeah, invest a bit in some decent paint, say 40$ US would be fine (no clue what the translation is) Shoot less hit more.

.... i bet your gun's internals are covered in paint by now ... a great way to keep your gun :dodgy: ... daily cleanings (every time you use), and getting better paint ... less breaks ... = better for your gun ...

I take goood care of my MR2 cleaning oiling it everytime after play:) But it doesnt damage my mr2 if i get ballbreak in the barrel... And the paintball breaks just with the portings if I take of my barrel and look down it you see that the portings are covert in paint not the whole barrel.

04-15-2006, 12:06 PM
... eh i'd just get some more expensive paint .. and have maybe 1/1000 chops or barrel breaks... just not so expensive that a normal person can't afford ...

you should invent a hopper that keeps the balls warm, then you won't have so much breakage :D

...hey thats actually not a bad idea....patent pending, *****es!

NextoN

I know I usually make a fire and then hold my paintballs or my hopper over the fire :P then I get less ballbreaks but paintball is not meant to be played at winter anyway it is getting warmer outside :)
