Hi, my friend and his brother are thinking about buying a gun and they are going to play 95% of the time woodsball. My one friend wants a 2005 Ego eclipse ( he is getting it for 300 bucks ) and his brother wants a VS1. Are those guns suitable for woodsball?

Your the pro, tell us ;)

Yes and almost any gun is good for woodsball. There really isnt a line between woodsball and speedball, except for looks some may add. The Ego your friend will love. Egos are really nice. The VS1 is a good choice as well, but the Ego is the better choice.
Basically, any gun is ok for any type of play.

Id take the Mr2 over the Vs1, but the VS2 over all, if thats even an option

Well ****, an Ego5 for $300? Take that quick, they're about $400 normally! He will need to get an HPA tank and a good hopper for it, though.

VS1 > MR2, IMO.

Good for woodsball? Eh. It's as Hossy said, it's a thin line. I use a Cyborg for whatever I'm doing, even woodsball. TimberTiger here plays only Scenario with his team, the Irregulators, the first scenario team to be signed by MacDev. Overkill? Not really, it just helps make winning easier.

I told him to take the Ego because they are really nice guns and for that price. Why did you say the VS2 is better than the MR2? I read that the MR2 is better than the VS2.

Almost all spyders are the same.
I could tell you that a Coca-cola diet is the best way to lose weight, but is that true?

The VS2 is a step up from any other spyder out there. It runs at a lower pressure than any other spyder, and has alot of things that higher end guns have.

I said VS1 > MR2, simply my opinion. It's the same thing as an MR2 (all Spyders are the same except the VS2/3 and RS/X), but it doesn't have all the crap on it that weighs it down for no reason.

A VS2 is way better than an MR2 as it has the pressure balance valve so that we who run Spyders don't have to drop hundreds of dollars into a gun to get it to be lower pressure, it already is. It also has far more upgrade options for performance than an MR2. Don't let the looks fool you, the performance is what matters.

On a different note does any one hear know if i shoot the apex a little bit side ways then it will curve?

????

Depends, is it on or off?

Also, the apex is made to rotate for the purpose of making hook shoots and dive bombs...so yeah, depending on how you hold it"side-ways" it's going to curve differently than if you were just using it like a flat-line.

Go to the BT Apex website, if you have any questions about the use of the APEX, go there to find out. It has plenty of examples on the use of their product.

On another note my gun has a huge kink in the hose will that matter at all like preasure spike anything?

If anything it would restrict the flow of air and could starve your marker during high rates of fire depending on what equipment and regs you are using.....a kinked hose isn't good for many reasons.

So I should smend the extra $12 ( canadian ) for a new hose?

bigred76

I would. Kinked hoses are horrid for keeping markers working in tip-top shape. As Viper said, they can cause the marker to be starved at high ROF. It doesn't really matter unless it causes an issue, but I personally like to take care of things before they are one.

Could this cause chopping at high rates of fire?

I wouldn't say so. The MR2 doesn't come with an eye stock, so my bet is that you're outshooting the hopper. Also, you'll need to replace the batteries in the VLocity every two days of play.

LOL! Yup, I played with mine for two days and left them for about a month before shooting the video of my last Cyborg... good God it was slow!
