Whats with the grip panels?

why does such a tuff gun have such poorly made grips. I'm referring to the fact that the removable grip panels don't seat firmly against the frame. The electronics and battery are obviously exposed! Has anyone had problems with water/moisture/paint getting inside the grip? It looks to me like I could sneeze and it fry the circuitry. Thought this was supposed to be a rough and tough gun. I need a solution.

On Super Bowl sunday I went paintballing at the Camp Pendleton park in Oceanside, CA and it was raining. Soo, I wrapped a bunch of celephane (Sp?) plastic wrap over the grips and zip-tied it in place with two ties. My MR2 survived a 4 hours of rain and did not affect the performance whatsoever.
