ok, this is the third time i've written this cuz the other 2 times i either had to close it to leave or i accidentally closed the wrong window.. anyway

i'm thought about going scenario for a long time and finally decided to do it. i'm still gonna play speedball, but not as much. i'm new to the whole concept of modding a gun, so i dont know what fits and what doesnt. i want an M16 look to it... i already know that i'm gonna go remote cuz my hose for it is kinked. here's a list of some things that i'm looking for:

*air thru stock (m16 or carr look)
*M16 barrel or shroud
*FAKE silencer
*sight rail
*sight
*single finger trigger
*new harness to hold my tank (holds 4 pods+ tank if possible

thanks in advance for the help, here's a pic of what i have now
http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb66/paintballkid0206/Tactical%20Sling/000_0079Small.jpg
that's a homemade tactical sling on there, if i get a new stock, i would need to get/make a new sling.

i'm looking at an ACP 2.0 pistol and holster for a backup too... would that be a good choice?

With the MR1 as long as you take care of it, it takes care of you. You'll almost never need a pistol. For the mil-sim parts look at http://rap4.com/paintball/os/accessories-c-22.html they have a good amount of items that fit the MR1. For a sight rail, there really isn't much because of the limited rail space, but I think I saw one with an M16 carry handle, check the pics thread (http://www.spyder.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=13730) and talk to some of those guys.

check out the scenario section at actionvillage, and RAP4 and trinity (although their stuff is really overpriced IMO). ace24 has a really nice mr1, so see if you can find his thread listing all his ups, or just pm him.

btw, i like your sling, i have one almost like it. it came from an old rollerblade carrying case!

special ops is awesome, that site has everything, its loaded to the brim with scenario stuff. If you want, you could look at BT's BT-16 barrel, its an M16 barrel, and if you select the spyder one, it will fit. I have the BT-16 apex, but if you dont want that you can get the regular one.

Instead of a harness, pick up a vest from specialopspaintball, they make great vests. i have the sabre vest, only 100 bucks!

i was thinking about getting a vest when i thought about going scenario a year ago. but i totally forgot about it now. i was also thinking about making it a q-loader. how much work is that and how much would it cost? Ace's mr-1 is what really made me want to go scenario with mine. i was looking on action village a while ago and i found a carry handle/ sight rail. it's like the ones that come with the mr2 and mr3s.

i got mine off of my JT gear bag.
alot of the stuff that i was looking for when i was gonna up my mr-1 (but didnt cuz i didnt have any money) was on action village, but i'll check the other sites. THANKS! if you have any other ideas, keep posting! :)

Ace's mr-1 is what really made me want to go scenario with mine.

His MR1 has inspired a lot of people to mod their markers.

IMO the best way to see what you want to do is to search the archive forums here and google. You can get as much advice thats out out there... But ultimately it is your marker and your decision. You have to be happy with what you do. If you look in the show your mr1 thread, you can see what people have and then research the products throught google. Best of luck with your newfound project!:)

A vest is one of the best things you can get if you're playing scenario/woodsball.
If you get a harness then use a remote, your tank will wobble all over the place. TRUST ME, get a SpecOps Vest.

As far as qloader goes, i suggest getting a direct mount for the MR series markers, no hoses to get in the way, no mounting brackets and yada yada. Less mess to clean if you get a break and you don't have to worry about exess balls in the hose that dont go into the chamber. I like how it feels on my MR2. I have a pic of it in my sig(link)

i really dont know alot about q-loaders. i have no idea how they work or how they reload... i think you just carry special pods around and just pop the empty off and put the full one on. but i'm not sure. if someone could please give me info or pm me, that would be great

just started researching ups today. i went on actionvillage and found the BT M16 Spyder Barrel. looks nice, but i'm gonna explore my options... i wont be able to start for a while though. i have to save up $150 for a new guitar and i have to pay my texting bill for this month (UH OH...). but i'm gonna get on at as soon as i can... i'll keep this thread updated on what i'm looking at so i can get some feedback. thanks for the help!!!

Before you make your choice on the tactical vest have a look at rap4's tactical ten vests, got mine for 99$ (commando vest )+ 30$ ( extra tiberius pouch ) , it has 4vertical pods +1horizontal tank, radio pouch shotgun shell pouch, name tag pouch, sling, pistol holster, utility pocket, mask harness, tiberius mag pouch, a still a lot of room for more mod pockets.

1.) i'm buying a new stainless steel hose for my Mr-1 from actionvillage...

linky- http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/BrowseCatalog-Start;sid=uyl9TNlZhKh9Qp68hRi95NONswS4hVjouPw=?Cat egoryName=paintball-gas-systems-hoses-and-parts-stainless-steel-hoses

The one that i have now is kinked and will not let Co2 thru.
i measured the hose that i have now and the measurement (from tip to tip) is... 8 3/8 in.
measurement of ONLY the BLACK part- 5 3/16 in.

the problem: none of the hoses at AV match... i found a PSI one that says that it is 5 in. from the very end of the threading...

that confused me because idk if they say the threading is where it screws in to the marker, or the braided part...
so i need good help finding the right hose for my marker.

PICS OF MY KINKED HOSE

2.)I'm also buying a remote hose for my MR-1.

it looks like they screw into the ASA. i was wondering (if i cant get a new steel hose) i can convert the remote so it will screw right into the brass colored fitting that the steel hose screws into (under the SPYDER logo in the pic).

you should be able to get a QD nipple from hobbyhorse. its 1/8th NPT, so if it doesnt fit straight in the gun, get a metric adapter. then you can run the remote straight from there. OR, get a gas-thru stock, run a QD ss hole from the front to the stock, and then run the remote out the stock.

i got nothing that you just said... you're talking about running the remote straight to the gun, not the asa, right? does anyone have answers to my steel hose questions??? i'd jsut rather do that than run the remote straight to my gun.

DFSniper, do you know how much running it straight to the gun would cost??? if it will cost more than just getting a new hose, i'm not gonna do it

DFSniper
03-22-2008, 01:34 PM
SS = stainless steel hose
QD = quck disconnect. as in the part that connects the ASA end of the remote to the hose end:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41c5bUC6MuL._AA280_.jpg

i think this nipple will work (http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=01U5My8XxDM4JGjyjiX5myWx23j8-sKsJWg=?ProductID=PpasFAY7s1EAAAD8%2eZ_HR1xz)

you screw that nipple into the part you mentioned. then you can either A) hook your remote up to the nipple (meaning you dont have to use your bottomline ASA) or B) get a gas-thru stock (cant seem to find one for the MR series, just regular spyders) and run a hose with a QD on each end from the body of the gun to the stock, and attach the remote to the stock.

I'm going against my RAP4 Boycott here, but I believe they had a gas through car stock that fit the mr1.

I think you'll also need something like this
http://rap4.com/paintball/os/spyder-flexiair-line-adapter-p-3595.html (http://rap4.com/paintball/os/spyder-flexiair-line-adapter-p-3595.html)

that stock won't fit the MR series, but that was the exact kind i was trying to look for. and that flex air line adapter will work just like the QD SS hose i mentioned, except you'll be running it into the small hole under the spyder logo instead of their VA.

irishwarrior
03-22-2008, 05:56 PM
I have one of those on my MR1 minus the flexi-air kit, and it fits perfectly. It replaces the velocity adjuster.

03-22-2008, 07:16 PM
DFSniper, it says to wrap in teflon tape. is taht the same as Thread tape???

and if i get that nipple, i can just get any QD remote and it will attach to teh nipple?

Thanks for the info Cyberthrasher, but i'm not gonna get an air-thru stock. too much work. If what i am assuming is true (see top of post) i will just run my remote straight to the body. thanks all! keep em coming!!!

BYUrdneck
03-22-2008, 08:47 PM
hey - why are you going to get that extra nipple? The remote line comes with one - it is connected to the part that screws into the ASA. All you have to do it take that off and use that. That is what i did - I took it off and put a brass pipe down through the Mag and have the nipple just sticking out the bottom - the remote line hooks in there.

DFSniper
03-22-2008, 08:50 PM
IMO the scope is a waste of money. and you probably wont even need the extra fill nipple. you can just unscrew the one that comes with the remote on the ASA end.

edit: he beat me to it...

paintballkid0206
03-23-2008, 07:07 AM
so maybe i'll just buy the line first and if it works, then i'm not gonna buy the other nipple.

i like the look of the scope, and i might want to use it once and a while.

i'm pretty sure that the stock that i'm looking at will fit because it is an MR stock... i forgot to put the link in the post of the stuff i was looking at so i'll put it here

DFSniper

will i be able to see my scope with my profilers on??

probably not. i think in most cases, people say the lense is too far away from your eye, so you cant get a good view through the scope. just pick up a $20 daisy scope from wal-mart, if you want it for looks. although a scope on an assault rifle is just WAY out of place IMO...

paintballkid0206

the brass-colored threded thing attatched to the body(the word is on the tip of my tongue but i cant remember it). the thing that the steel hose screws into.

DFSniper
04-02-2008, 07:19 PM
the fitting?

BYUrdneck
04-02-2008, 08:16 PM
by brass looking - are you talking about the piece that the steel hose screws into and then to the gun? I think they are silver. And no it won't screw in there because it is a different thread.

paintballkid0206
04-03-2008, 04:53 PM

DFSniper
04-03-2008, 05:56 PM
it should. if it doesnt, DON'T FORCE IT! and get a metric to 1/8th NPT adapter.

BYUrdneck
04-04-2008, 06:14 AM
that piece is a metric to standard adapter - it makes a metric steel braided hose line hook up to the gun through a standard threaded hole. you can hook up the remote nipple straight up to the gun if you take that piece off. Are you wanting to still use the fake mag thing?

BYUrdneck

Also - RAP4 has a cheaper M-16 style barrel than the BT16. a lot cheaper. The RAP4 one plus shipping is a dollar or two cheaper than a BT16 from actionvillage without shipping. I am planning on getting one of those soon.

Anything > RAP4 barrel. I'm not going into it, I'm not going to start a fight, but I am saying that the RAP4 barrel has NOTHING on a Freak, Deadlywind, UL, or UN1Tech barrel. It's a waste of money.

BYUrdneck
04-05-2008, 07:23 PM
Well RAP4 does just sell the shroud and front sight that you can put on any barrel you want - so If you want to spend a lot more money and get a better barrel - you can still have the M16 look with that kit - which is the only one that I have seen for sale.

go to wwiiguns.com they have and sell all sorts of replicas and stuff, but they also tell you about the rifle itself. they have alot of rifles there, my favorites being the german MG42 and MP44/STG44 sturmgewehr. its a cool site, you should get alot out of it. If you are really feeling into it, you could go to cushmanpaintball.com and get your marker custom fitted for a WWII gun kit, people make their markers into MP44s, MP40s, MG42s, Thompsons, etc.

Ah, the Sturmgewehr 1944. The first true "assault-rifle". It was the first weapon to effectively use an intermediate cartridge. It was also the base model of the AK-47.

Oh, yeah, I remember your luger! So jealous! Hey, maybe he make a luger out of his MR1. Without the barrel it already looks like a pistol anyway. OH, I just thought of it, he could make one of those artilleryman lugers. Like this:
http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk214/irishwarriorking/Luger.jpg

I'm not a world war 2 buff per-se, but, it's my favorite war to learn about and I can rattle off a lot of info about it and the weapons of the period.

interceptorMR2
06-18-2008, 03:00 PM
that would be quite the project! I think it would be alot of fun, not sure how youd make it look like the luger with its unique cocking mechanism and such, but it would definetly be cool. Im obsessed with world war two you could say lol. I just wish memorabilia wasnt so gosh darn expensive :( i would kill for an MG42 or a Stahlhelm. I love american stuff, but Im interested in german memorabilia mostly. One of these days i need to get an MG42 replica and mount it on my wall.... HEHEHE :D

Ok, I found two WWII guns that I really like

The Thompson (used by americans. obviously). and the MP-40 (Germans)

It looks like the MP-40 will be easier to make because the stock isn't as weird, and cuz of the metal look.
I like the Tommy gun cuz it's American. But the stock will be harder to make because of how it attaches to the gun.
I like the looks of both guns, but it's up to the difficulty. I do NOT have a dremmel.
TOOLS I HAVE- Table saw, cordless power drill, sordless skill saw. Those are the main power tools that i have. I have other non-power tools.

Thanks go to InterceptorMR2 for telling me about the wwiiguns.com site!

Did some researching on that site. I like:

GERMAN:
LIGHT GUNS:
MP40

HEAVY (MACHINE GUNS):
MG42
MG34

You can go to cushmanpaintball.com and get your marker custom fitted for a thompson, mp40, i think maybe BAR, and MG42 kit. its cool lookin, kinda spendy but cool. unless you want to make these things home made. All of the full metal things such as the MP40 might be hard to make though if you dont know how to weld and such.

paintballkid0206
06-19-2008, 11:06 AM
If i was just a kid that wanted things done the easy way, i would do the cushmanpaintball.com thing. but i'm not. lol. I want the experience of modding a gun. I also like making stuff and putting stuff together/taking it apart. It will also give me something to do to take my mind off... things... (If you know what i mean by that). I have an uncle that knows how to weld, so i might have him try to show me a few things, or just have him do it for me. I think it will be A LOT more fun to do if i do it myself.

EDIT- List of guns is edited!

Definetly talk to your uncle, that will make your project way cooler, specially if you are doing an MP40. I don't think that i'm gonna be doing an MP40. It's an option, but i like the MG's better.
I'm out of school. To get what i'm talking about, go to Flame Therapy.

oh yeah sorry about that, forgot, my bad.

Yeah I think it would be realy cool to see you do an MG, which one, 34 or 42? 42 looks hard because its got that fancy shroud with the air cooling holes in it.

I'm still thinking of which one i'm going to do. I'm definately gonna do one of the MGs. I dont like the shroud on the 42, but i do like the wooden stock and grips. Maybe i could just do the 34 with the wooden stock and grips...

oh i think the wooden stock and grips would make a nice touch to the MG34, thats a cool idea i never thought of that. Personally i really like the MG42 shroud but it would be way too much work. What kind of MR1 do you have, just a regular one or an E-MR1? Auto is the scariest thing about an MG. Have you ever seen those videos of them firing? it doesnt even sound like a gun, it sounds like a sheet of canvas paper ripping :D

EDIT: I actually just saw a few MG34s with wooden stocks, not sure about grips, but looks like they have a wooden stock still.

I just have a normal MR1. I got mine when they first came out. I don't think i'm gonna make it auto. I'm not sure if my field allows it.

I'm also trying to find a site that shows the measurements for the gun. I'm trying to see how close i can get to actual size, maybe a tad bit smaller.

go to wikipedia and look for length, thats how i found out the length of a dragunov SVD and the MG42.

do you know if wiki will tell me length and measurements for like the stock and stuff, or do i actually have to research for that? lol

Wikipedia has that kind of info usually.

yeah usually they have it, it they dont, look for a site that sells individual parts for replicas and go from there. Ive been looking at sites that sell idividual dragunov SVD parts and have found measurements for those.

i havent been able to get anything done. i just started working again, but i only work 2 days a month. and i only make $100 from that job. and i cant apply anywhere like i want to cuz i still have the cast on and i like cant do anyting... im still debating on if i'm going to make it pump or stay with this project. it depends on if i can get a better job soon so i can pay for the parts. if i dont get one soon, i think i'll make it a pump like i've though about.. but i havent made a decision yet

here's my latest addition......

How it came to me (not this stock, it came with the M4 stock you see below)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/druidsdecendant/Paintball/A5/IMG_0613.jpg

What I've done so far...

Added a QEV to the ratchet plunger housing and the scope riser, Leapers red/green dot and X7 hopper and camo cover...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/druidsdecendant/Paintball/A5/100_3772.jpg

Added a Palmer Stab to the tombstone and red BT mainspring, polished internals and squishy paddles in the cyclone, has a Freak/AA but you can't see that under the camo cover...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/druidsdecendant/Paintball/A5/100_3821.jpg

The camo tape is temporary. I wanted to play this past Sunday and didn't get it painted like I wanted to so I added the tape to protect the primer for now. I will be giving it a MARPAT scheme like the hopper cover at some point in the near future.

It also came with an APE EGrip and APE board but I'm waiting for an armature rod (for the noid) to come in the mail. This grip also has a (?DW?) magnetic trigger grouping, which will be a lot nicer than the single hook mech trigger...

It also came with a 14" Palmer Brass barrel with an APEX tip on it. Haven't tried that yet but I put the APEX on my Freak and I have to say...I'm unimpressed. Perhaps I'll have better luck with it on the brass....IDK...

Here are some things I got my daughter for OK DDay....yeah, I started early...lmao...

I took one pic each with and without the flash to show what it might look like in the light and in a darkened woods area...

BT 3+4 MOLLE for the kid's vest. I know they don't match, she didn't care about that...lol

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/druidsdecendant/Paintball/100_3781.jpg

BT carry-all pouch

Radio holder (for in case we get separated on the field)...

And then I got other crap...knee and elbows for me and her...gloves for me (she didn't want any).......stuff like that.....
