View Full Version : MR2 Shroud Plug?

 Does anyone know if this plug serves a viable purpose? Can it be removed so that my RIS Handgaurd can sit flush against the shroud without catastrophic problems? The call number is 255 on the product manual.

No you can't. It holds the valve spring and cup seal so your gun can work. Without it you'd lose your entire tank of air in about 20 seconds or less once connected.

What you can do is cut it so it sits flushed with your MR2 body. But you will lose the use of the shroud because there's nothing to screw it onto. I did the same thing and so did Spyderman723. After you cut the plug, you can remove with a long narrow stick (I use a chopstick) by pushing it out slowly, carefully and smoothly from the back - ie where the striker goes. That way you can still replace the cup seal if it gets leaky.

Actually he's talking about the shroud plug....which is removable, only an o-ring holds it into postion. It's purely aesthetic.

I have popped this part out and put a fat o-ring on it from one of my old bolts so it would fit nice and snug into the the back where i had my stock. I tried to put my laser in the hole in the front but I had no where to run the wire. I would have to drill a hole and I am not willing to do that unless I have a extra shroud.

Maybe someone can come up with another idea for that open slot? does anyone know of a flashlight that would fit?
