Simple answer, no. You can do whatever the hell you want with it so long as you meet a few guidelines:

1.) Gun may only use a blowback system to recock (no Spimmy's, no FASORs, no pumps, no EM1's!!!)
2.) Gun must be safe to use and not blow up in someone's face
3.) Gun, if electronic, must only use one of two boards, Tadao or Stock, AND be in Semiautomatic ONLY, no ROF cap
4.) Must not deface or cover Spyder logo's (gofigure... :dodgy:)

Other than that, there's not much else... These are just from last years rules, they might change them some this year. Last year's rulebook (http://www.spyder.tv/spydercup/section/rules/spyder_cup_rules_2007.pdf) and summary (http://www.spyder.tv/spydercup/section/rules.html) links.

would a trinity body be considered covering the logo, since it takes away the VS# part

I'm considering playing, but I don't feel the need to go out and purchase a spyder and trick it out right now.

I am very pleased to see the increased number of events this year. I am tentatively planning on attending the July 25 event in Rock Hill, SC, but this will be very difficult if the event is only on that Friday. Hopefully things will become clearer so I can make final plans.

No ramping? **** that

Plus the field set-ups are awful. Has kingman ever played paintball? Half the team is gonna be hit right off the break. (provided people can lane properly)

why do you want to ramp? and the layouts are set up that way to make the games go faster. what are you going to complain about next, having to shoot a spyder (that is, if your even going to play in it)

Why the hell would I go to this event and shoot a damned Spyder??? :dodgy:

Had to say it! :D It's NPPL style rules to keep the kiddies safe so that they get encouraged to keep playing and not overshot/bonus balled. ;) Sometimes that unwittingly happens with ramping, whereas most people will have to work hard with a Spyder to achieve 15bps consistently.
