View Full Version : Co2

i filled my tank up and went throught and 700 rounds at the most
then the pressure dropped to about 500 psi
i'm not sure what the heck is wrong???

02-18-2006, 06:20 AM
Well with 700 shots through it, it sounds like you were getting low on Co2. How big a tank do you have?

02-18-2006, 09:11 AM
20 oz is 700 good??

02-18-2006, 09:47 AM
There are so many variables with CO2. Was it cold outside? Were you shooting at a high rate of fire for an extended time? What velocity were you shooting at?

02-18-2006, 10:06 AM
i'm not sure about the velocity
but it was like 32 degrees outside
and slow shooting one at a time

02-18-2006, 01:27 PM
Well, if you don't have any low pressure mods in your gun, then you'd get approx 1000 -1200 shots out of a 20 oz Co2 tank. Since you shot 700 shots, and it was cold out - cold affects the Co2 levels - then I'd say you're ok.

so when the pressure drops just mess around with the regulator screw?

02-18-2006, 09:01 PM
so your gun's not stock ?? ... don't mess with the regulator screw ... you'll have too high or too low of a fps ... best way is to chrono it though ...

Cold weather and less shots is not bad at all .. co2 is just inconsistent and spikes a lot .. and with cool weather ... it's not really able to expand as well ....

So ... if you know how many fps you have then mess with it ... but i'd just say if it's already set .. just don't mess with it

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER (http://www.zdspb.com/tech/misc/resources/shotspertank.html)

i get it now
so pretty much wish you live in texas to paintball
thx again

02-19-2006, 06:49 AM
Hahaha - nope! You should see the PSP footage from Texas this week. 20 degrees and raining - they're busting paint like crazy!

Better you should wish for HPA....

02-19-2006, 07:47 AM
geez thats cold
you got a psp to?
so hpa tanks aren't affected by the cold?

02-19-2006, 07:59 AM
no nitor tanks are not affected by the cold so if you have the money get a nitro tank they are way better but little more expensive to fill but hold way more air. also beaver if you have a rodeo join the rodeo owners club bamf hacker is a founder talk to him and look for the thread in the rodeo section somewhere ok:D

02-19-2006, 10:12 AM
haha ... not psp as in the playstation stuff ... psp as in paintball sports promotion .. i believe .. they have vids and all this stuff ...

no nitor tanks are not affected by the cold so if you have the money get a nitro tank they are way better but little more expensive to fill but hold way more air.

Ok, just to clarify a bit. Nitro tanks are affected by the cold, but not like Co2 and not enough to make a difference. The HPA tank, when filled (especially if flash filled) will get hot, whereas the Co2 tank gets cold. Then, as the HPA tank cools, you lose some of your fill due to the expanded gas cooling down.

Also, they aren't more expensive to fill, actually. Most fields just charge about 5.00 to fill all day. Others, about a buck per 1000 psi. Now, if you don't have the capability to get them refilled, then you're poop outta luck! Stay with Co2 or buy a fill station and scuba tank or large fill tank of your own.

Finally, they also don't hold way more air. You get about the same number of shots from a 20 Co2 tank as you do a 68/3000, 45/4500 or 68/3000 tank. The real efficiency comes from the gun you're shooting. The pressure inside the tank is more, meaning that the air is compressed tighter than in a Co2 tank. Just like Co2, you can get approx. anywhere from 900 - 2000 shots from a 68/4500 HPA tank - more or less depending on how well your gun is set up.

However, HPA is cleaner which makes it easier on the internals of your gun, is regulated on the tank, lighter (bottles can be glass or carbon fiber wrapped) and just plain cooler!

As far as the PSP goes, I meant the paintball league, not the gaming platform...:D

i c
thats cofusing about the psp thing
but i dont think i ready to fork over 150 bucks so i'll stick with co2
thx though

02-20-2006, 07:06 AM
actually .. if you want you can just buy a tank online on pbnation ... for maybe 100 bucks, which is a 68/45 ... or you could go on actionvillage and get a pure energy fixed 72/3k for 64 bucks

02-21-2006, 06:48 AM
but i like to buy from my pro shop
plus i got to save up and get and an imagine and hopper

02-22-2006, 07:11 PM
i would say .. get a hopper first that could keep up with 13bps .. or more .. since your most likely going to go to a better and better gun. I'v tried the electronic trigger first before .. not good news .. chops like crazy ... just can't control yourself to shoot slow

02-22-2006, 07:17 PM
sounds like a good idea
thats what i was thinkin
or i was thinkin about just waiting till summer and earn all the money
so i dont have to pay shipping

02-22-2006, 07:23 PM
shipping ?? ... if you buy it used on PBN you could probably get a used eggy, which is in pretty good shape for 30-50 depending on how cheap they sell it (including shipping)

02-22-2006, 07:33 PM
whats that

02-22-2006, 07:46 PM
eggy is a kind of loader or the Evlution
Eggy (http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=FDzU9IErFVnUcsLWKeAUXIuNXFPx5wCaF-k=?ProductID=oY2sFAY7q9MAAAD7YXrNrsCb)

02-22-2006, 07:48 PM
got it
i was looking at like an empire v2 or sometin like that

02-23-2006, 10:37 AM
could go with that ... but the eggy is faster ... and you can upgrade it to the z-board.. but you should always get the Reloader B once you have the money .. if your gonna stick with paintball

02-23-2006, 02:33 PM
how much does the "eggy" cost

02-23-2006, 04:49 PM
the eggy costs around ... 30-50 used depending on the condition and person selling it

02-23-2006, 04:52 PM
I'll sell ya one for 725.00 - I'm wanting a Proto pretty badly this year! LOL! :D
