Ok, so I want to buy the BT AK barrel for my MR2, but I'm not sure if it will look good, or even fit well. Does anyone have any input, or even better...pics?

I'll bet it will look cool. I already dog-legged the stock and it should look good with that barrel.

I have a post in the MR1 forum and haven't received any reply either.

I think I'm going to have to break down and just buy it!

Ye, I know! nobody seems to have one! But, I love it so much I'm probably gonna just buy it too.

I orderd it yesterday from Action Village:
http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=012-317-0012

It says it will be here Saturday.

I'll let you know.

Here is what I posted in the MR1 forum:

First thing to do is cut the Resevoir plug:

Second problem I ran into was that the grip was mounted too far up the barrel..leaving about a 3 to 4" gap between the grip and the body.

I tore all the pieces off and saw that there was a C-clip that didn't want to come off without scratching the barrel. :(

Now with everything removed, I slid the grip pieces on from the back end of the barrel, but of course, nothing fits.

I Dremeled the pieces to fit, but now with the grip near the back, the "cleaning rod" doesn't reach back far enough.

I didn't want to Dremel the front sight to slide it back, since the barrel was stepped up and it wouldn't move, so I took some rod and made a new one.

You can see the scratched part, where the grip originally was, and the new rod....I'll paint it up later.

I'm thinking of ordering a real magazine for it and then modding it to fit over the original magazine. I'm thinking it could be cut down and drilled and tapped for the AK one to slide over and bolt up.

Stay tuned....

the MR1 is a totally different gun though...the one on action village has the end of the barrel (end with the threads) extended so it looks as if it may fit even with the shroud on....for the MR2 you may hove to cut the reservoir plug still though.

If you read what I wrote up there...I said the grip wasn't at the back of the barrel and how I moved it back.

Wow, thats alot of work for the MR1, but alter's right, it'll be alot easier for the MR2.

Nice job though! It looks great Mascman!

Was it worth it?

Was it worth it?

Probably not! ;)

It's in the negative digits with the windchill here...maybe I'll shoot a couple off and let you know.

As far as money goes, the kit could be better for the money.
