View Full Version : spring kit didn't help?

I bought the 32 degrees spring kit and I put in the lightest spring (black) because my stock spring was only allowing me to shoot 350 fps at the lightest setting.
Well even with the lightest spring my gun was still shooting 325-330.
Is there something possibly wrong with my gun?
Also, I dont think the valve spring in this kit works for the MR1 stock valve, is that correct?

Yeah I don't think that there are any aftermarket valve springs that will fit the MR1. I'm not sure about the striker spring. Did you make sure you turned the velocity adjuster counter-clockwise?

Hmm , the only thing I can think of is playing with your velocity, or check to make shure all your internals arnt messed up(ive seen some pretty weird things insider peoples guns :))

Snip the spring about 1/8" off from the bottom of the spring, this might work

yeah i had it cut then...but it's crazy that it was still shooting that hot with the lightest spring so now i have a cut lite spring....gah!
as for the velocity adjuster I did have it all the way out (counter clock wise).
I'll take a look inside it but when i last checked everything looked fine to me.

These are hot shooting markers. I cant imagine why they send them out with it shooting so hot. It really is stupid for you to take it out of the box and expect to play with it. I don't think anyone has chronoed below 300 right out of the box.

I think I would contact kingman on this. A marker that won't shoot at legal speeds is unsafe. Seems to me they should take care of this for you.

Are you using CO2 or HPA?

Try borrowing a friends HPA tank and see what happens. I found switching to HPA dropped me from 330 - 240.

That may help but if the marker is supposed to work on co2 it should work without having to change the spring.IMO.

Yeah i was running it on CO2. I'll give it a try this friday on HPA and see what it chrono's at.
My friend's MR3 right out of the box actually shoots perfect fps and on CO2...

Do you think I should call Kingman on this? Is it a possible manufacturer defect with mine?

These guns have been so inconsistant out of the box. Mine never shot too hot, but I have heard some crazy fps numbers. Oh well... Still gotta love the MR's
