The frame didn't turn out the way I hoped (it was supposed to match the tip and eye-covers) but all in all I think it looks pretty good...

That is sweet looking! Did you mean the frame was supposed to be red? Some black macro line fittings from HobbyHorse would round out the looks nicely. Great job brother!

Did you/they align it for the front screw instead of the normal mounting areas? Looks like they/you did.

Amazing  Looks great. I've always been partial to the Pilots. I like it better with the torpedo on it:rolleyes:

Yeah the frame was supposed to be Red but the color wouldn't take to the material so it ended up Gloss Black, now that it's all together I think the Red would have looked good but I like the black as well. If I end up keeping it then I'll be getting macro-line and fittings to match the color scheme.

Just sent out for anno? Nice job. :)

I'll probably have two guns ready to go out for summer... well... probably autumn as I want to use them first... ;)

Not sure I understand question...I recessed the frame mounting screw holes a little more than stock so they would be more flush with the frame other than that their in the normal mounting area.

I thought you would  and I do too, I think the torp w/one of Hobbyhorses red macro's and black marco-line would work.

I thought you meant the eye wire holes were set back further then you wanted. >.<

Ahhh, gotcha, no the eye holes are good, only thing that isn't the way I would like is with my old eyecovers the opening b/t the frame and body for the eye-wires was further back and w/the timmy covers I had to mill the channels for the eye wires farther up the frame which left the previous wire opening visible, just barely but still there.

The frame is, 3 coats, the gloss red anno (or aleast that's what it was supposed to be) ended up making the frame look mate black which wasn't gonna work. If I can find somebody that will powder-coat it reasonable I might go that route.

wait, the frame is supposed to be red?? did you use primer on it first??

i used about 5 coats of $1 paint for my body, but for the red i used standard krylon, and if i ever go back and re-paint it, i'm going krylon all the way because it goes on MUCH smoother and just looks better.

When I sent it to anno it was supposed to come back Gloss Red anno, but Ray at 125customs couldn't get the anno to take because of the alloy type the frame is. It looked mate black and was sealed and I could have probably let it go at that, but I decided I wanted it to be gloss black to match the body, and Krylon cmae to the rescue. And yeah it goes on very well and dry to a nice durable finish.
