I think that I have narrowed my problem down to the Fasta Hopper. I took my marker out in a controlled setting with Tournament grade paintballs. I have broken balls in the hopper. I was not able to shoot that many rounds before the eyes became dirty. Any ideas?

how old were the balls that you used?

The paintball shop said that they just got them in. Is there a way to tell from the box?

usually if they are from a shop they are relitivily new

are the balls broken in the loader, or are they broken in the gun?

clean your loader and see if anything is obstructing it.

if there is some kind of force setting, lower it.

ive also broken balls in my hopper i was thinking it was the hard plastic paddles, i used marbalizers and still had broken ball right at the top of the raceway.

That would be the force of the hopper crushing the ball. Is it possible to turn down the force setting on the Fasta? (I don't own one, but am looking up the manual now)

Is your shop reputable? They tell you it is new, but are you sure? I break paint in my loaders but only when the paint is old.

It was the paint that I was using in the winter. In the warmer weather I do not get the breaks. I used an Empire loader and I did not get breaks with the same paint in the winter.

Yes, sometimes you have to use winter grade paint.

My bet is that the balls were more fragile during the winter time (colder temperature), and thus they broke in his hopper easier. When using them in hotter weather, their shells are more durable and thus harder to break.

I have had two Fasta hoppers on two separate VS3's and each hopper has, without fail, broken balls every time. I ended up purchasing an Eggy for each VS3 have have not broken a ball since.

I am very disappointed in the fasta hoppers, especially since they are almost 100 dollars. Their performance should not be dependant on "Fair weather only".

Sorry to hear that, but it also depends on what balls you're using. I'm actually surprised that the Eggy is not causing you to chop as it's a consistent 14-16bps tops hopper. Keep your eyes cleaned, Arson! :)

My girlfriend and I have run several different types of paint through the Fasta hoppers and we are lucky if we go through an entire hopper full without a ball being broken by the spinning arms.

I play every weekend and still no breaks in the Eggy III.

I have examined the plastic arms on the spinner and noticed that the plastic on the Fasta is extremely rigid providing no give if a ball gets stuck. I am almost certain that this is the cause of the balls breaking. After checking the Eggy, the same arms are made of a very flexible rubber which seems to prevent balls getting caught.

The maintenance that I provide on both of our guns is top notch, which is why our VS3's perform remarkably well. =)

Most field stores have fairly new paint at all times. (Considering the fact that you pay $16 for 500 rnds)

I to have been breaking balls in my fasta I'm lucky if I can get 30 shots off before it chopps. When I first got it had no problem then it just started chopping all the time in the hopper it's driving me nuts I love the hopper just hate all this chopping.

In my halo the only time I've had a problem is when the eyes are dirty or broke. Are there any sharp edges on the paddles?
