What are detents and what do they do. I know thats probably a noob question but I have been seeing it all over the threads and I dont know what they are or what they do.

The detents are hidden under the feedneck, it's just a rubber nob the keeps the paintballs from just rolling right out of the barrel of your marker. Yours is located under the feedneck, where it would appear that there should be a
4th screw hole but isn't, the detent is under it instead.

its not a problem when people ask questions. you've gotta learn somewhere and sometime so it might as well be here. the detent is a little black piece of rubber sorta underneath the feedneck. when you fire a shot the detent is there that way your marker will not try to load two balls at once which can cause chops. i hope i answered the question because im really tired right now. im sure others will soon jump in and help clean up and add what i just said.

Well that is not working. What are the best detents, to get for an mr2. The reason it is not working is because I have like 3 to 4 balls sometimes coming out all at once. So along with the best detents please send a link to where I can get them.

i have a few questions for you real quick.

1- are your detents black?
2- have you broken in your bolt yet?

if you have those things done then buy some timmy detents (which should also be black). you can get them anywhere but i would go with ebay, they are not very expensive.

ok just make sure that your detents are black first. but i would just go and buy some timmy ones online. they look exactly the same as the ones that should be in your mr2 right now.

WHy Black and where would I find them in the fourth lookin screw hole under the feed neck.

if you unscrew the three screws that are holding the feedneck on and take it off the, detent should be right there where you can take it out.

So do you have to constantly keep replacing detents or what?

wylde01
01-07-2008, 09:39 AM
honestly ive never had to replace mine since ive owned my mr2, and ive had it for almost 2 years now. if your detent looks like it is broken or being shreaded then you might want to look at your bolt and make sure that there is no sharp places on it that could be cutting the detent. other than that im not sure what could be wrong with it.

Alright I will check it right now and post a reply with the result

Would it just be sitting in that little hole? If so then Houston do we have a problem because my Mr2 did not come with one like an ass.

wylde01

GUESS WHAT those silly detents were hiding on top of my TV man I almost beat them. Detents are those little rubber pieces that are like nail looking with a flat head than long body right.

wylde01

Start your repair kit and keep the other one in it ;-)

I started building a field kit before I even got my marker. I Have O-Rings, detents, different springs, nuts and bolts I may need, washers, safety pins (needed one for a friends mask as it kept loosening, luckily the little ones are dancers so I had a couple kicking around the car from competitions), and all sorts of things that may come in handy in a pinch. Easy way to look like a hero is to be prepared for everything ;-)

Yes I will start working on that but I dont play that much maybe twice a month on sundays or saturdays really depends

Erlkonig

I am hoping to play 2-3 weekends a month as a minimum. It is always better to have it all and not need as opposed to needing it and not having it. I use a Plano double sided adjustable compartment fishing box. Smaller then a novel but hold the essentials plus a few =)

HavocNC

Yeah I will go to my local academy and pick something up like that and see if they have o-rings and what not.

Hey is there like a website or something with nothing but extra repair parts?

shouldn't matter what color it is, it just depends if its a good quality one.
