Finally figured out...

I finally figured out what combination to get as far as a red dot and rail mount as I did some googling around and found a nice post who managed the following:

and I cant wait to recieve my items... I got them on amazon so do some searching if your interested. I will let you all know how it works out in the end.

work do you think? I think it will clear the easy unmount from LG I am getting.... but I just wanted some other thoughts :)

the first two links are not accessable. you have to join the site to access them. As far as the feed neck... it looks like it would work. It says: "...finish to match your MR1 or MR2."

So that pic is of my MR-1 - and i am very happy with the results - and I too was wondering about that new feed neck mount. If you get it, you will have to let me know how it works. I am pretty sure it will work with the set up that I have. the front tip of my red dot is almost behind the plastic feed neck and i still have room to move the red dot back some more. I know the new feed neck will lower the hopper a bit - but I don't think it will hit anything.

Thanks for the replies.... and I will fix the links later when I have time... But BYU... what is the height of the mount and scope (in inches please) if you dont mind measuring it. I may be able to determine if it will fit. I already ordered one so I will let you know either way. :) Oh and thanks for making that post in the other forum from the start... because I originally had a 30mm BSA and was gonna get rail risers... but instead I thought Id go witht something that works from the start. Are you content with your mod? ;)

Ok...measurements...well i don't have a ruler handy - but when i have everything mounted on the gun - i am holding a 3x5 card up to it and i am roughly estimating that is it 2 3/4" tall - but I have a aimpoint replica so it is a little bit taller than a normal red dot. Also - I am trying to think of a way to change the top cocking knob. i can attach the QD riser thing real close to the knob but it bumps it a little when it fires - not good. But when it is mounted farther back it clears the hopper completely - I am using a VL200 right now - want to upgrade to a G2K.
