It comes with a 9.6volt Kingman battery. Online stores like paintballgear.com or direct from kingman @ 1/888-kingman

but does it even matter if you have the spyder battery or just a regular battery?
Regular 9v batt will last for about 100 or so shots (maybe less, maybe a couple more). If you have the stock board, you need to use the re-chargable battery.

You are not able to use a regular battery with your gun. The stock board will suck a normal 9v dry fast. The battery that comes with your gun is a 9.6v u need that extra .6v. Doesnt matter if the board can change modes but usually other guns exept spyder let you use regular 9v

These are the ones that come with E-Spyders: here. (http://www.discountpaintball.com/kingman-java-96v-rechargeable-battery-p-1538.html)
Any rechargeable 9.6V battery will work, though. There are some on www.pbgear.com.
