when you guys play paintball, do you take the stock off or do you keep it on? most of the time i keep it on, but i can't really aim down the barrel due to my mask. so i tried taking the stock off and it worked pretty good i was able to get better shots. but i put the stock back on, it looks better with it on and it has a better feel to it. for a strange reason that i can't answer i like keeping the stock on even though it makes aiming harder.

Here's the standard mod until you can afford an aftermarket stock.

I have the voodoo stock on it now, just don't have those pictures yet.

cyberthrasher_706 (http://www.spyder.tv/forums/member.php?u=4279) that is pretty hot. I like the way you have your scope on there. Looks good.

jcs combat stockshttp://www.bp-usa.com/Spyder.htm (http://www.bp-usa.com/Spyder.htm)
cost is $55

Ultimate arms on Ebay http://stores.ebay.com/ULTIMATEARMS-SPORTING-SUPERSTORE_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZk m (http://stores.ebay.com/ULTIMATEARMS-SPORTING-SUPERSTORE_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZk m)

direct link to their foregrip which is about $15

and then just find a barrel mount you like

If I remember right, all of it together (except for the stock obviously) was like $45 after shipping. I think I might still want to figure out a shroud of some sort to pretty it up alittle bit but it's completely functional now and that's all that really counts. One note about the mounts on their site, they are for firearm barrels so you will need to go to your local hardware store and find some longer screws to make it fit around your paintball barrel, should only cost about 50 cents.

what did you do? saw the top of the stock off? or did it come that way? He cut it. I don't use the stock. I didn't like the way that it felt. It feels more natural for me to place the tank against my chest/arm and shoot like that.

yeah, that's how you would normally do it. I didn't have a good saw at the time so I used a bench grinder. I don't recommend that, the material really stinks when it gets hot:)

how do you recommend cutting the stock without making it easier to break?

I've only heard of them breaking this way like once. It's actually tougher material than you might think. Truthfully, I think it's less likely to break this way because there's more flex to it. Once you start cutting on it you should realize that it's actually kind of a composite plastic, kind of like the stuff they make weatherproof decks out of these days. The only reasons I replaced it were looks and after a long day of playing my shoulder kinda started getting a little tender but that could've been remedied with a little foam and duct tape.
The only thing I would suggest is making the cuts a little rounder/prettier with a hack saw or something. Mine kinda look like crap and the little nubs sticking out take away some of my mask space.

Let me help you. Dont even think about it. Cut the thing off (just the top part like the other guys did). It works alot better. I h8d mine until i did, now its awesome. i can see right down the barrel.

Well said, It's good he's worried about what's going to happen but some things just don't need to be overthought. It's harder to find someone who hasn't cut it which should be a pretty good sign that it's ok.

I am going out to the field in a week or two and I am bringing a hacksaw. I will play both before and after modded stock and report back the details. I just bought an MR1 and can see how the stock would interfere with a mask).

I dont think you need the stock looks cool but slows you down ... and you dont need to brace the gun anyways
